Attorneys want to try Pa. boy, 12, as juvenile

Pray for Jordan Brown and his family. He is much too young to be put through the adult system. It is extremely painful to even think about. Even more painful, to know that the DA does not want the case moved. Where is his integrity? Subjectively, as well as objectively? This young boy had to undergo so many changes in his life prior to this incident. It is so unfair to punish a child so severely given the entirety of his life situation. He needs counseling and an alternative program. It is only fair and just when all the truth comes out.

Do you think Jordan was the only kid in the world that was put in a situation like this. Get out of the woods and take a ride to the city schools sometime and take a look around. Some of the stuff I've seen these kids get put through would shake you to your knees.

This kid had more going on than a new mother. Where is his real mother?

there is something extremely screwed up with this kid and his kid sister too. how did they become so desensitised to such violence that they could calmly eat breakfast after the boy shoots their pregnant mom, then just get on the bus to school like it was a normal day? this kid is a junior ted bundy in the making. try him as an adult. hope he gets the death penalty. harsh? yep. but the alternitive means he will get out an older meaner criminal who already shows signs of being a sociopath-he'll be a full fledged psycho by then and will continue to act like the calm cool and calculated killer that he already is,

what don't YOU stick to the topic instead of attacking MY opinion? what is it that YOU have to say about this wretched child sociopath? hugs and kisses will make him better? that he need "help" ? well go ahead and help him. when he gets out of jail- you'll surely invite him over to your house to play with your kids right? hypocrite is what you are. you can just go to hell.

Judge sets Dec. 10 hearing for boy slaying suspect

NEW CASTLE, Pa.—A judge has scheduled a hearing Dec. 10 to determine whether a 12-year-old western Pennsylvania boy will be tried as an adult or as a juvenile on charges he killed his father's pregnant fiancee.

For now, Jordan Brown, of New Galilee, is charged as an adult in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court with February's fatal shooting of 26-year-old Kenzie Marie Houk and her unborn son as Houk lay in bed.

If convicted as an adult, Brown faces life in prison without parole. If the case is moved to juvenile court, any punishment would end when he turns 21.

District Attorney John Bongivengo opposes a defense motion to move the case to juvenile court.

Brown is incarcerated at the Edmund L. Thomas Adolescent Detention Center in Erie.

The above was the topic. So there is a hearing, another one, to determine whether or not a CHILD (not a teen, not an adult) should be tried in JUVENILE court. Sounds redundant. For now the child is still in adult court for using a lethal weapon that the ADULTS (plural) in the home did not lock up, and thanks to our gun laws, a lot of people here are deeply hurt, CHILD included, once more. If the case goes to juvenile court, the CHILD still will be punished but more humanely. The DA does not want the case moved to juvenile court.(?) I hope the child is not caught in the throes of a bitter political battle... Presently, the CHILD is at a juvenile center, after many failed attempts to keep him in an adult prison, and two other juvenile centers. Could it be because he is a CHILD and these things do not happen often, therefore, this process is cruel and unusual punishment for a CHILD? Sounds like Lawrence County has a lot of money to throw around. And a lot of pride at a CHILD'S expense.
