They are doing their job. Many crimes and other offences are predicated off routine police contacts with citizens. They are a pro active dept and are highly motivated. Thats why the crime rate is low and other ajoining towns are hit with indictable violent offences regularly. You just complimented their dept.

Yea...they beat my boyfriend up pretty bad while he was hand-cuffed and now they're trying to say that my boyfriend assulted them, which is totally false...If anyone else has been assulted by the E.B. cops please email me @ godira@aol.com or post another comment...There is a trial going on now and if found guilty he will serve time in jail...we have 3 children and it's not fair that the cops are abusing their athourity and are now lying about the whole incident...please if u were a subject of their abuse email me or post another comment. Thank You.

I got a story with a happy ending.
I got a totally bogus ticket about a year back by a East Brunswick Officer. He was simply too fat away from the intersection to see that was really happening. I took him to court and tried the case myself in front of Judge Todd Mayo. The officer fabricated a bogus story, UNDER OATH, to justify the ticket. What neither he or the prosecuter knew was that I had subpoenaed a copy of the police survaillance video before the trial. It clearly proved that the officer was lying and the Judge ruled not guilty. I am still considering wether or not to press charges of perjury against the officer. It is due to cops like this that I am now installing a $2000 dollar video survaillance system in my car. I now always carry a small recording device in my car so I can record any possible future conversations with the police.

not trying to play the race card but my fiance and i are african-american and feel that we have been singled out on many different occasions because of this. there is a BIG problem on Cranbury Road. even if you are going the speed limit, with your seat belt on, they will harass. many times, they have followed us into our complex and we pull in to park, we will look back and they drive past with very menacing looks. most importantly, my fiance's mother was arrested for a DWI, when she only had one glass of wine, had been up for well over 18 hours, and was visibly tired. they were very rude and rough with this mother of two in her 50's. eventually, the biggest charges were dropped but she had to shell out money for an attorney, sleepless nights, anxiety, just a very stressful experience for her which was senseless. these small town cops are jokes and are looking to prove something because they have low self-esteem and are on power trips.

The police officers in East Brunswick are great. They are hard working and committed to their job. Anyone that saying otherwise has probably been guilty of something.
East Brunswicks crime rate is low because of the officers efforts. What is the crime rate in your town? Im sure it is higher than East Brunswicks.

Oh ya they are great! I can put one of those lil jewish hats on my head and never get a ticket. I dont even get pulled over. It realy works.

The EB police used to get drunk on duety in my uncles driveway. It was a 600ft long drive that went into the woods. They would sit for hours once or twice a week getting wasted in uniform in a patrol car. It got so common my uncle made me put a trash can out there for them. They left cans of Miller on the ground all of the time.

It is a town run by money. If you are rich and Jewish you will NEVER get pulled over. If your not rich and jewish they pull you over and THEN look for a reason. It happens all of the time. Nobody puts them in check and they are all rude and jerky. Bishop is the only EB cop that does his job to the -T-. The rest of them do whatever they want when they want.

I had a witness testify that I passed the roadside(random) tests for a DWI stop. An entire family came out on the porch to watch the event. With flying colors I passed all tests and blew a .02. They then impounded my car full of people and took me in for another test in the station. When the cop tested me(for over 4 hours straight) I blew at the highest a .03. I was well within the limit and only had 2 beers 3 hours before I drove everyone home when I was pulled over. My friends all came to pick me up. As I leave the cop (Soki) tells me how lucky I am tonight and how 1 more beer could have got me a DWI in front of all my friends. 3 weeks go by and I get a ticket in the mail for a DWI. I got a court date and showed up wondering WTF is going on. I had them put it off so I could get the witnesses to come into court. 14 people showed up in court on my behalf. The judge would hear none of it. The cop now claims I blew a 1.0. Knowing that with the machine they have it is impossible to get the same reading the entire 4 hours and the fact that he was a total lier I asked to seek council. 3 monthes later I go back with representation and find out in court that very same night that 2 other people claimed the same cop falsely charged them with DWI as well. They went to the hospital and got a blood test. I did not. In the end I was found guilty and lost my job over it.

7 monthes go by and I run into who was apparently another EB cop in NB pub. The cop is piss drunk. He knows who I am and starts giving me shit for calling his bud a lier. I said screw this and got my friends and left. He had NB police detain me going out the door while he yelled in my face in front of 2 North Brunswick cops piss drunk and barely standing. He threw his hand in my face and slapped my cheat. Well now its on so I returned with a headbutt breaking his nose. I was pepper sprayed while this drunk cop from EB flipped out and tried to get his gun out. 5 minutes later a EB police car shows up and takes him home.

Sound like a place you want to live?

As for the crime rate there is tons of it in EB. Our police force spends all there time pulling over random people that we have a hudge rate of robbery. Mall thefts, car thefts, home thefts are very common here. The difference is EB does not release any information to the papers on such things. I happe to be very good friends with a dispacher in EB. This town is much worse then it looks. You have no freedom here. China has more freedom then EB residents who do not go to temple.

Oh and this is my only ticket ever and I have never been convicted of a crime in my life. I have been pulled over by the EB police a total of 61 times in the last 4 years. Does that sound like a good police department?

Uh huh. That is why my former neighbor's home in EB was burgerized as well as my aunt's and three other people I knew at EB. On the street where I lived (Gladstone Dr.) people regulary drive 45 mph (in 25) during commuting hours. We constantly complained to the EBPD but they never did anything. Apparantly it is just not an affective use a police resourses to catch less then a dozen speeders on a local road when the same police can catch 3 dozen on Ryders.

Speaking of race...
All you need to do is visit the EB court room. As a law student I have visited the EB court room many times. Here is what I have found...

Initially, the mix of people seems to proportionately represent the ethnic mix of the township of East Brunswick. The cases are always heard/tried in this order, 1) Serious offences (DWI, drugs, etc), 2) cases were the defendant has a lawyer (yes, they get special treatment), 3) traffic offenses in which someone was hurt, 4) other traffic offenses.

In cases 1), 2) and 3) the officer must issue a summons; He has no choice about it. After the first three categories are heard, the only defendants left are those that committed minor traffic offenses (speeding, red-light, racing, careless, etc.). At this point you will notice that the remaining defendants are about 30% Black/Hispanic, 40% Asian (Chinese, Korean, Indian, etc.) and the rest Caucasian. You do the math !!!

California, recently, made it a rule that when an officer issues a ticket he must tick mark the ethnicity of the defendant on the ticket. This data is then made available to the public. Talk to your local govt. rep. about introducing a similar measure in NJ.

if you think cops anywhere are pulling people over based on their race then you are a sheep in the flock of sheep. If the media never came up with the term racial profiling then 99% of the people would never even know what it meant. So if you think a cop is going to put his job, pension, and family on the line to write somebody a ticket or illegally search them then you are sadly mistaken. I would think a cop's family, pension, and house is WAY more important than locking up some scum for drugs or writing somebody a ticket based on race.

its EFFECTIVE not affective....and its RESOURCES not resourses...and why don't you go down to the police department and tell them how to do their jobs since you sound like you are some expert and have all this training and experience.

well apparently you havent been around the gladstone dr area lately. theyre the radars out, including on buck too. they painted the streets with "35 mph" and since i live only a block away, i hear speeding sports car all night long. plus, not to sound like a stalker but with you saying you moved& your former meighbor was buglarized, i have an idea who you are ;D. like i said, im not a stalker i swear.
