When will we stop busting little girls for smoking pot. Lets focus on the criminals.

Arrests like this are more of a "Life Lesson" to help teach minors the importance of what the consequences of breaking the law are. Hopefully it will be enough to deter them from breaking the law in the future and become model citizens. Once the girls turn 18 their juvenile records become sealed (some charges can be expunged) but if they mess up it is on their adult record.

Teach then now so they have a chance as an adult.

This war on drugs is draining our country and deviding our country to the point the us has 2 million people in jail and 90% for drugs that should be legal. The usa has admitted they made a mistake during proabition by making drugs illegal which in turn has created a thriving multi billion dollar underground drug trade and if it were taxed we wouldn't have a deficit our economy would be thriving.
When will those old reps in washington dc wake up and legalize drugs before it bancrupts the usa. When the feds bust one dealer there are 3 to take thier place so we will never win this false war on drugs and I dought drugs will be legalized because to many people who reprsent us in washington dc are making to much money on dealing the drugs.

Let the non violent drug dealers and users out of jail and legalize them before it is to late. there are more drug users than there are people who drink.

hey little girl wise up already you wont get anywhere in this world obviously your parents NEVER kept track of you or cared what you were doing ...next will be heroin or something else you will end up on the streets and god knows where else

and i know she didn't really write that. some of your comments though are pretty humorous. no "pro cop," she won't be collecting welfare off of your taxes or standing in unemployment lines, she's a great student in college now with a better job then some college grads. and she'll be paying more taxes (making more money) then most police officers in not too long, so really don't say things without really knowing what you're talking about. yeah this set her back, but only financially. and about her parents (mom south brunswick), they are very loving and kept better track of her then most adolescents in this area. unless you're going to lock your kid in your house or plant a gps device on them, you won't do any better a job parenting, i promise you. it's called bad luck, and it caught her.

cops are a drain on the economy. let's face it, you don't need a brain to become one, you certainly don't need to maintain your physical fitness, and god knows you don't have to be honest. so you become a cop at 21, work until you're 51, and get paid w/bennies till the day you die for doing nothing. that, is a drain on the economy.

unfortunately, "mom south brunswick," your rant above must be rebutted, because it is filled with either inaccuracies or things that are simply untrue, and you seem to be very out of line with reality. firstly, she really didn't write that! i don't know why you say "yeah right she didn't write it," but she didn't! you then remark that "if her life was doing so well..." she wouldn't have smoked pot. are you living in the 1940's when the government released the propaganda videos about people smoking pot and looking like crack addicts? you probably were scarred by those videos, but unfortunately again they are far from reality. i'm not a legalization of pot advocate, but i do believe alcohol is 100x worse then marijuana. have you ever heard of someone overdosing on pot? how many drunk driving deaths occur each day? how many families are torn apart by alcoholism? please, do some reading/research about this before making any judgments circa 1950. and again, a sign that you clearly don't know what you are talking about, a minor drug offense such as this equates into a year of probation and drug tests, and then an expunged record. that means you don't have a drug record and aren't shunned by society for having one. no, i've never been arrested, so don't waste your time thinking that. do you have kids "mpm?" unless you lock them in a room, they will be around pot, they may not smoke it, but they will surely be exposed to it. and yes, they will drink alcohol before they turn 21. shocking, i know, but true! maybe i'm wrong, i am making assumptions, but i think your archaic thinking is sorely in need of a wake-up call.

i made a mistake, im paying for it and i am sorry.My parents are the msot wonderful people in the wolrd and how dare you blame my mistakes on them. I am paying my fines and my job is supporting my sobriety .so fuck you. but it still doesn't make sense to me why it is illegal in new jersey and last week they came out with a pot vending machine in california.

i smoked alot of pot when i was younger and my mother condoned it. because unlike the rest of the brain washed population she realized that pot isnt a bad thing. she told me to never get into harder drugs and told me about some of her experiences with drugs and with that advice i never once tried anything bad. maybe if some of you people tried telling your kids the truth about drugs they wouldnt get into hard stuff. i mean honestly do you really think they will believe you about anything if you tell them that reefer madness is the truth ?

The war on drugs is much like the war on alcohol back during prohibition...a waste of resources AND the creation of a market run by criminals and resulting in the needless deaths of thousands.

Alcohol used to be illegal, and mobsters like Al Capone made their fortunes selling the contraband. When the laws were repealed, such gangsters moved on to other "illegal" enterprises, but they took a huge financial hit by losing their market.

If you want to stop the drug trade, legalize and control the distribution.
