i just think that everyone should just let this child rest in peace, let the law do its job, and get off the internet! its evil! i googled a name because i wanted to see if there were any court hearings coming up other than the one that is, and i come accross this smut. i am directly connected to this little boy, not as a friend of a friend who knew the parents, but by bloodline, and i think that anyone whose trying to get a kick out of gossiping on a chat board should take a look at whats wrong in their lives. 3 out of 5 children are abused in one way or another, watch your kids like hawks, trust no one, even the ones u love. the questions that arise in my mind have no answers. i've thought about who could have done it, the parents, the boyfriend, an aunt, uncle, or maybe it happend by accident, have they done thorough SVU type shit? the only question i would have for the defense is... how long DID it take to call for emergency services after the discovery of a lethargic child? thats someones fault. i want to know the truth, but like the rest of the convicts in jail... everyone's innocent. no one ever does it, and to the shithole changing aliases to get your jollies off, you're my number 1 suspect.

I know everyone involved in this tragedy very well and it is hard to be loyal to any one person. I also know the alleged killer and I know for a fact and have witnessed his mental instability. I have witnessed him react to simple situations completely inappropriately. i have even witnessed cruel words and cruel actions towards the one he supposedly loved and wanted to marry. Although I have never witnessed physical violence against another, it would not shock me. I believe he has a mental disorder and that he is capable of anything. But, if this act of violence was committed by someone else, I want to see justice done. I just wanted to give a little bit of insight to his real character.

Robert did not love that little boy nor did that beautiful little boy make any great strides since Robert "came into his life". I dont know where you got that from but its obvious where you stand...in the dark.

So, "Concerned Person" you have been designated to speak the facts??
First, you state "Everyone felt he was guilty,"
Just who are you the spokesperson for? I am one of a group of MANY who believe Mr. Knutsen to be innocent of this charge! There are just too many inconsistencies on the part of the investigation regarding this case. Even the assistant prosecutor made a claim that the jury was 11 to 1 in favor of guilty. Others made the claim it was 11 to 1 in favor of not guilty. Now you make a claim of 10 to 2. Why not identify yourself since you are a spokeperson and speaking "factually"?
Yes, a wonderful little boy has been taken from us. Nobody argues that. But the investigator in this case made up his mind from the start and nobody else was investigated! And there was surely enough reason why they should have questioned the people who were with Nikolas the last 4 days of his life. During that time, Mr. Knutsen wasn't with the boy. Considering that he was the only person in the apartment the morning the affects of the injury took place, he was easy to finger! There were too many inconsistencies on the part of the state's witnesses during that trial. To listen to the motives they came up with was sickening--Mr. Knutsen beat the child because unemployment told him that they would get back to him?? I know a couple of people who know Mr. Knutsen and his family and they believe in his innocence 100%! He and his family have gone through much considering they all believe in his innocence and all loved Nikolas.
I think Nikolas' family should want to know the truth at ANY EXPENSE! This defendent has been portrayed as such a bad person since this terrible event took place. Unfortunately, our system doesn't adhere to its "innocent to proven guilty" standard. There are people who should be investigated who were with this boy in the days leading up to his death. You really have to wonder who is hiding something here. This investigation should be re-opened. There was an unusual amount of loopholes in certain professional testimony and the prosecution was quick to dismiss Dr. Baden's sworn testimony because he was paid by the defense and his wife was a friend of somebody? He is one of the more respected pathologists in the world--someone called in on the JFK & Martin Luther King assasinations. He would lie for a $10,000. payment? Wasn't everyone (the investigator, the prosecutor, the judge) all being paid for their services at this trial? It was a case where the state kept referring to the "facts & evidence." What facts and evidence? They produced no concrete evidence against Mr. Knutsen and continually played on the emotions of the jury. Again, yes, a wonderful little boy is gone from us but this was an absolute rush to judgment. Mr. Knutsen's freedom is now in jeopardy. Yet, he did love this boy with his whole heart and this is something I have been told by many. The boy apparently made great strides after Mr. Knutsen came into his life. Should it be proven that Mr. Knutsen is innocent how will you all feel after everything he has endured the last 27 months?
And on a sidenote--using multiple identities on this forum to get a rise from the people is just plain childish!
I would think the family would want to know the truth regardless of what it might be! Someone out there is responsible for what happened to Nikolas, that is for sure. And everyone who was with the boy the last 4-5 days of his life should be questioned!1

What i want to know is why the biological father Nick, had to have supervised visits with the child. That usually stems from abuse. And why wasn't he questioned?

its obvious that this maniac killed this little boy ...he should be beaten to death and suffer the same way he made that little boy suffer and is making his parents suffer now..hopefully he will endure the same pain and torture he inflicted n this beautiful innocent child...i give nikolas's father a lot of credit for not killing this animal

I know all parties involved . As far as i could see Rob loved the child like his own son. Nick however only saw the child maybe 3 or 4 times in two years. And to answer your question Nick had supervised visits because he neglected Nikolas in his first year.

Witness: Boy's fatal injuries came before he was in accused's care
by Jim O'Neill
Thursday October 11, 2007, 6:36 PM

Fatal injuries suffered by a 3-year-old boy were inflicted long before the toddler was entrusted to the care of his mother's fiance, a famed forensic pathologist told a jury in Middlesex County this afternoon.

Michael Baden, a medical examiner, author and television personality, said he reviewed the death of Nikolas Chavez and determined the boy sustained a broken back two or three days before he died, and began suffering internal bleeding the night before his death.

Baden also testified that doctors called by the prosecution were wrong when they told the jury the child's injuries occurred on the morning of his death on Nov. 30, 2005, when he was being watched by Robert Knutsen, a 31-year-old taxicab driver on trial on a charge of aggravated manslaughter.

Baden, a key defense witness, offered the testimony to defuse the prosecution's contention the child was healthy and moving about freely, without any signs of discomfort, in the days before his mother, Nicole Rosol, left the youngster alone with Knutsen, who shared their apartment in North Brunswick.

During the trial that began last week, Middlesex County Assistant Prosecutor Seana Pappas argued Knutsen punched the boy twice in the abdomen and once in the back, causing internal bleeding and a fractured spine. Knutsen struck the child in a moment of frustration, Pappas said, asserting Nikolas struggled as the defendant tried to change the toddler's wet diaper.

Knutsen's attorney, Robert Honecker Jr. of Ocean Township, counters that police wrongly charged Knutsen and failed to question other relatives about the injuries. Honecker further contends Knutsen was not with the child when the boy was injured.
