Santorum Tells Gay Man He Doesn't Deserve 'Privilege' of Marriage: VIDEO

Full story: Towleroad

At a campaign stop in Fulton, Missouri today, a gay man asked Rick Santorum, "Who are you to tell me that I don't have the same rights as anyone else in this country?" Santorum told the man that he's entitled "like any other person to equal treatment under the law" but not "special treatment" and that marriage is "for the purposes of having ... (more)

Dopey Santorum is a Catholic who doesn't believe in Freedom Of Religion. What do you expect from this A$$?

Somebody needs to tell Santorum that the Government doesn't "bestow Rights". It merely guarantees and protects them.

"Rights" derive from self-evident, innate Freedom.

The rest is just sectarian garbage.

So when the New York Legislature passed a law giving gay and lesbian people the right to marry one another, which the governor signed into law, was the legislature and the governor creating a new right or protecting an already existing right ?

Taking official notice of a pre-existing innate Freedom, and agreeing to guarantee and protect it.

Rights aren't "created". They are recognized.

Ex Senator Frothy Lube Santorum advocates lesser rights for glbt in all manner of contexts, not merely in the "privilege" of marriage. This includes open military service, employment protections, gay/str8 alliances, adoption. He basically opposes any rights except to be silent and self hating.

Whatcha doing with all those Mister Rogers' sweaters after your campaign crashed the rest of the way, Little Rickie? Glitter is hard to get out...although not as much as santorum is....

The NY legislature extended an existing right to a new group of citizens much the way voting rights have expanded to include more people over the history of our republic. No new rights were created by the legislature's action.

Why is he still talking... some one Please follow him around and when he opens his mouth just go SHUSH!... adults are talking. And then escort him to the children's table where he belongs.

Once there perhaps you can roundly violate his rights you know the way he wants to do to others, right wing religious fundamentalists like him love that eye for an eye crap. Then give him a Christian themed coloring book and a box of all Caucasian flesh toned crayons and he will be happy as can be.

When Rick Santorum's tiny daughter recently became ill, I read (as is my habit, and with fascination) the comments sections appended to two or three news articles and editorials.

People were laughing at his daughter, laughing at him, telling him he deserved it, and showing such a frightening lack of compassion that I'm surprised it is not waking some people up (who are otherwise UNINVOLVED in these culture wars).

I personally don't feel anything about him or his family. I draw a complete blank. Whatever fate befalls him or his family, I have zero concern. I see him as a monstrous, Nazi, rapist, filth-infected, subhuman being who has absolutely no moral code, morality does not exist for him, and he is attacking innocents, yet he wants compassion for his family.

Imagine if his daughter had been denied medical care because of WHO SHE IS, whether by gender or any of a number of other markers. YET SANTORUM BELIEVES that his daughter deserves the privilege of medical care.

I can unblinkingly say that if he tells this guy he does not "deserve marriage," then Santorum and his family deserve absolutely, literally and utterly nothing. Literally. Logic is logic.

Santorum also doesn't believe in abortion UNLESS it's specifically for his wife......then they opted to spend the night in the hospital sleeping with the lifeless body of their "son"......as that was not weird enough......instead of letting the funeral home take the deceased fetus to bury it.......they took it home to allow their children to hold this lifeless fetus to let them know that their "BROTHER" was real.......sorry, but that is somehow rather wrong and morbid all at the same time......and yes, if you google this.....it's all true!!!

I have yet to see a Christian conservative politician ,city official in Florida who is not a complete hypocrite and as cruel as can be but brilliant at being able to mobolize poor, uninsured masses to vote against their own interest.

The follow up to his issue with the lowering rates of marriage in this country. What effect will there be on heterosexual marriage if we allow equal rights of marriage for homosexual people?

Santorum has already shown that he cannot be president because the Oath of Office requires upholding the Constitution which he has personally decided to ignore.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Aquarius

The emotional atmosphere is quite potent under this Lunar Eclipse, evoking a sense of crisis. The problems you've been experiencing with a certain person lately come to a head during the next fortnight, making you feel that you have to take drastic action or lay down the law. Yet this could make the situation worse than ever, especially if you act from a sense of panic or desperation. Take things gently and don't throw your weight around unless it's absolutely necessary.
