This is great news, now an out of towner coming up 71 from the south will only have the stench of the landfill as their 1st impression of the city now that the beautiful smell of processing human waste from the sewage plant will now be turned to usable gas.

Just try to be upwind when you fill your vehicle with the processed natural gas! Back on topic... I hope that other cities learn from New Albany and realize that lower taxes create jobs, not higher taxes.

So you think all they are getting is this one time tax break ? I suppose if you do that you also think Kasich is doing a good job and that Geroge W was a good president. They will be back with threats to move again if they tax breaks are not extended. The party in power has sold Ohio and is selling more of it everyday to the rich and greedy and robbing from the taxpayers of this state. That was a high cost for 300 jobs considering we need hundreds upon thousands of jobs here to even get back on track. Kasuck will bring no economic recovery and no net increase in jobs. rathe his venture capitalists will bring in money. Gut companies to take all they can from them and even downsize and eliminate jobs to make a profit and flee the state once they are done. The only thing that will have increased in size will be Kasich's ego and his personal ban account

Is Ontario, Canada one of the 57 states ? What should Ohio do, put up a sign saying that Ohio does not want compainies moving in, just out ?

The only thing that will have increased in size will be Kasich's ego and his personal ban account I will take future tax breaks on future revenue over the democrat way any day. These jobs are not adding to debt and the no tax money would be generated without the jobs. We just spent over 800 billion on the democrat party jobs bill and those jobs actually had money spent to create them, not just a lower tax rate on future revenue. Bodie, here is what dem jobs cost, do you really think this is a better way ? By Matt Kelley, USA TODAY WASHINGTON — Not all jobs are created equal. It cost more than $500,000 in economic stimulus funds to create a single highway construction job, largely because of building materials, a USA TODAY analysis of stimulus reports shows. Education aid and research funding are among the cheapest ways of creating or saving jobs at less than $60,000 each, the analysis shows. $60 K sure seems like alot just to "save" a job !

The only thing that will have increased in size will be Kasich's ego and his personal ban account So what is more devasting to you, jobs being lured to Ohio with tax credits or jobs leaving Ohio because other states giving tax credits.? Kasich is doing what other states/cities have LONG done to Ohio. Kasich is bringing jobs back to Ohio with tax breaks. These may be jobs that were already created and are just moving, but that is exactly what other states have been doing to us way too long and no one was doing anything about it. I don't see how giving tax breaks (which ALL states do) is selling out Ohio, what the prior administrations have been doing is selling out Ohio by sitting around and doing nothing while jobs left by the hundreds of thousands... DO NOTHING IS SELLING OUT OHIO. Kasich is tired of seeing jobs leave as much as the rest of us, which is why he's not sitting around keeping the "business as usual" mentality in the statehouse. What data have you collected that shows that Kasich will not bring a net increase of jobs and will no bring economic recovery? From what I've seen in just the past 3 months, he's already getting his feet wet luring jobs and creating jobs in the state. Why would someone lure companies to this state to create jobs, just to turn around and "gut and downsize" the company? When incentives are given, many times in return there is a requirement to create a certain number of jobs in return. You're full of it, you may not like the governor, but you need to wipe off your Democrat Goggles and see what is really going on. The Democrats took partisanship to a whole new level during the Bush years, and have created a situation in government many cringe at. You wonder why the Dems have lost seats all over the country?? Your exact statements are a perfect example. Speaking the truth and creating a fantasy world. These are times where we need to work together, throw your party allegiance aside and get things back on track so we can do what is best for the people and this country.

Something for nothing wrote: <quoted text> These aren't new jobs. Cities are basically just poaching jobs from one another, and the businesses are the ones making out. Wrong! The two companies expanding in New Albany are from Ontario, Canada and New Hampshire. These are new jobs and that doesn't include the construction jobs that will occur to built that 110,000 square foot new building. Business First has reported these are new jobs, and the companies themselves are talking about their expansion. Furthermore, you obviously are clueless when it comes to business because the goal is to be profitable. Tell me an employee who doesn't want the company they work for to be profitable. Being profitable is a good thing and it is a major reason to keep people employed.

Sorta like Nationwide moving 1400 from Dublin to downtown in exchange for a few "improvements" around Nationwides' Grandview Yard project. Improvements that the city of Columbus refused Grandview for 2 years until Nationswide promised to move the 1400. Now that's job poaching.

Wonderful! Those jobs in New Albany will be minimum wage with no benefits. Maybe we can find some illegal immigrants to work there. We need good jobs that pay a living wage with benefits to reduce the burden on social programs. Stop the corporate welfare.

They poached on that but Columbus has done the same by poaching from other Ohio cities. This article is about a company from another state and another country, but the Kasich bashers are so eager to rant they can't finish the story to see where the jobs came from. The same one that bash future tax credits that cost nothing loved the stimulus.

The article states: "It's the latest coup for a city that recently won Bob Evans Farms' new corporate office and the 360 jobs that go with it, plus 150 jobs that are expected to be added over the next five years." 150 NEW jobs to be added in next five years!!! The Dispatch reporters are probably wondering if anyone is actually reading the articles today.

"These are times where we need to work together, throw your party allegiance aside and get things back on track so we can do what is best for the people and this country." You are preaching to the choir! Now tell that to Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck and the rest of their fear mongering ilk. What they are doing is splitting this country in half. They want a class system, the rich and the poor.

I just went back over the article. The article clearly shows that.... ready for this: 664 NEW JOBS ARE BEING CREATED IN THE CENTRAL OHIO AREA. It will be interesting to see how many Kasich bashers will be willing to acknowledge these 664 NEW jobs.

Ask any unemployed person and I am sure they will see this as a positive for the state. What proof do you have anyway to support your allegation that these jobs will pay $7.40 a hour and have no benefits? Be grateful that jobs are being created. Being from Etna, there may come a day where you could benefit from what New Albany is opening their arms for.
