25 mph on that part of Schrock is ridiculous. Speed trap.
That said, he was extremely foolish.

He redlined, then he flatlined, but he had his light on for safety!

Not really funny, I know.

As a former motorcyclist I can testify to how dangerous they are, especially after you've had a few beers.

Wonder what the toxicology report will say.

Anyhow, tragic for his family.

Westerville has a policy of pulling over motorcycles for no reason.

I've been riding in Westerville for around 10 years now and have never even been given a second look.

Live and ride in Westerville 10+ years and NEVER pulled over - guess that's because I generally observe the posted speed and ride sensibly. All said, God bless and comfort his family!!

I'll give you the fact that he was being foolish but as for the speed limit, that part of Schrock Rd (and anythng East of Otterbein Ave) is residential. 25 is the speed limit on a residential street.

Pointless! Even though I feel bad he lost his life...this was all for what reason...to try to run from the police! Every parent should show this to their teenage kids. This is what happens when you do something so stupid that you loose your life over it. Imagine what and who he left behind because of his foolishness. I feel bad for his family that now they have to deal with burying their loved one and for such a careless act that he choose.

I've wondered about that stretch of Schrock Road. It's residential with kids and families and should clearly be a 25 mph street, but it's also long, very wide and has few traffic lights or stop signs to slow down traffic. It makes me wonder if it isn't an important part of Westerville's revenue-generating plan.

Seems like the Dispatch reporter should have taken the time to look into this guy's criminal and driving record (if any). The question is: Why was he running from the cops? And yet that's not even addressed.

Excellent question re: why was he not pulling over for the cop to begin with? Add in- 0 helmet. Sounds like a disturbed, masochistic individual who didn't embrace personal responsibility like normal ppl usually tend to do. Embracing Risk averse behavior(s)- can only get you so far in life.

If they are going to mention helmet use then they should also mention its relevance. The article does not say if the rider suffered a fatal head injury.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Taurus

Get involved in financial transactions at your peril under today's Lunar Eclipse, because certain people will use them as a stick to beat you with. For instance, if you ask someone to lend you money they'll either make you feel guilty about it or dredge up all sorts of past instances when their trust was betrayed. You would also be well advised to avoid any show of possessiveness or jealousy, even if you feel it, unless you truly don't care about the disastrous outcome.
