Is it any wonder that Bob Evans would want to leave the cesspool that Columbus has turned into? It isn't even safe for their employees to work in. I don't blame them a bit.

I am by no means a knowledgeable business person, but I can tell you that over the past several years my husband and I have been involved in purchasing a home, and along with that, we had discussions with many home contractors, realtors and people who do home projects such as decks and cement work. The vast majority have breathed a very audible sigh of relief when learning that we did not want the work done in Columbus. Evidently, Columbus government is a difficult entity to deal with. Some actually said the did not do work in Columbus, period, because of the obstacles of accomplishing such projects.

Kasich lost me on this one. They are paying $13 million to create 150 new jobs. Some one needs to do some math here.

Gee, I wonder if I said that I was thinking of moving out of Ohio when I would get my big incentive check to stay. Oh.....I'm not a business. Got it. So basically, I just paid for someone to upgrade their residence. NICE.

Considering how the village idiots of Columbus and Franklin County have treated Penn National I am not surprised that Bob Evans moved to Licking County and out of the City.

Also before you wonder why Kasich would spend 8 or 9 million of our dollars to move a company from Columbus to New Albany... remember... NEW ALBANY... who has always held Kasich's leash? Wexner... this will help get more project for structural improvements up to that corner... more of Kasich doing his master's bidding

Good for Bob Evans! Good for Ohio! Good for Jobs! Boo Hoo Columbus, Mayor Clownman, Carpetbagger Brooks, and crew! Yet another example that should teach you that your way is NOT working for Ohio. Your selfish, tax grabbing, meddling is NOT going to attract or keep jobs in your part of town. Things like this might turn around someday for Columbus only if Columbus, and Franklin County, gets back some real leadership with vision for the future instead of the old greedy bullying ways of the past that continue to drive people away. Good luck to Bob Evans, an Ohio company, in their new and improved ventures

In case some of you failed to read teh article Columbus offered Bob Evans $14M to move to Polaris, so they were leaving the south side of town even if they stayed in Columbus, and if you call Kasich irresponsible the same should be said for Coleman for his offer. Bottom line Bob Evans didn't want to be on the South Side. Columbus wanted to keep the tax dollars, as well as several other places in central ohio. Were they serious about moving to Texas? Who knows but since they had land there it was a threat. Congrats on Kasich on locking them down. I'm also guessing the corporate employees of Bob Evans will be much happier in a new building rather than the dump they are in now.

Good move Bob Evans. I am certain your employees that don't live in Columbus are very happy that they will no longer be getting their pockets picked by Columbus every payday.

I'm also guessing the corporate employees of Bob Evans will be much happier in a new building rather than the dump they are in now. On the first point: Kasich is irresponsible because he bid against Columbus rather than work with Columbus to get the best deal for OHIO and the tax payers... vs the best deal for Bob Evans only One the second point: Sure... give me 8 or 9 million bucks of tax payers money and I'll be happier to! BUT remember... it's lazy, overpaid workers who cause budget problems... NOT an idiot politician giving away Millions at a time in corporate welfare that didn't need to be given (had he worked WITH columbus)

how can any fiscally conservative person agree with using $8million of Ohio's tax payer dollars to move a HQ less than 20 miles?! you people who agree with this are blinded. truly blinded. and dont give me that crap about how columbus was making them pay to much in taxes. read the article. they offered them sweet incentives. this is just more corporate lubing from king kasich so the bob evans ceo can have a shorter commute time.

I normally vote Republican, but this is digusting. Kasich and New Albany officials should be ashamed. My tax dollars (and the tax dollars of companies who don't play this hostage game) are going to subsidize urban sprawal. The South Side really needed Bob Evans and now is it being paid to leave. Sickening.

"an agreement by Delaware County to back a state-issued loan to purchase the current Bob Evans headquarters, estimated at $5 million" Why is Delaware County involved in this?
