I hope this woman is never released from prison. The crime was horrible, pre-meditated, cold and calculating. I doubt very seriously that there has been any rehabilitation on loveless' part. This person has deep rooted issues that prison has not likely addressed.

Melinda Loveless is trying to get parole and we need 5000 people to sign the petition to keep her incarcerated!!! I was #3404... Shanda was only a 12 year old girl, new to Indiana and her school and got mixed up with the wrong people. I have friends that knew her and she went to school in Louisville,ky before moving to southern Indiana... Melinda Loveless is young enough to get out and start a fresh life and even have a family and that is something Shanda didn't get the opportunity to have.. I think that shouldn't be an option for a cold blooded killer like herself. Thank you and please sign because every signature does count!

um...yea i honestly think she is crazy, im reading up on this story and i cant even imagine if this was my little sister,I would wnat her to DIE in Prison, and yea i cant believe how happy she looks in her pictures... She has to feel bad somehow.

I cannot imagine her getting out of prison. She is still young enough to have poor little children to torture, should she get out. That would be tragic!!! I can't even bring myself to type her name as that would make her seem like a person rather than the demon she is. I pray that she doesn't ever get out. I still feel the same horror and disbelief today that I felt upon hearing about this 15 years ago. I will say a prayer for all of their souls but I am glad that I do not have God's job. I cannot begin to imagine what he thinks about it.

I think the reason this story still haunts so many of us after so many years is that we all lost some part of our innocence. It was a wake up call that all was not right with the world even in a little town in Indiana :( I lived 2 streets over from the house that Shanda was lured away from for 9 years. Every time I walked around the block I had to pass that house. I never once passed it without thinking of her. I had both of my daughters read one of the books written about the evil spawn....I won't say about Shanda because her story was one of a child still shrouded in innocence, they dragged her into their horror unwillingly. I had them read it so that they understand that it could happen to anyone, anywhere. Even around the corner from their own home.
