I think its important to hear from each candidate. Is there going to be any kind of debate or forum?

That would be a very good debate. I would really like to see these three get together and discuss our judicial system in Rockwall and adjacent counties that would include precinct #4. With Judge Karr's experience and Ms. Bell-Whitten's family tradition in the subject I would expect a very intellegent exchange of ideas on the office. With Rockwall County's tremendous growth rate and expected potential either one of these candidates would be a perfect fit. I don't think we can go wrong with Whitten or Judge Karr. I believe I would vote for Judge Karr however, just because we need his experience now and we would not have to experience any sort of learning curve and I think Ms. Whitten is young enough to follow up in the next election. It is a perfect time however for her to throw her hat into the ring so she can begin the process of people knowing exactly who she is.
By the way, anybody got any jumper cables?

I love the fact you seem to discount Mr. Branch who seems to be the only who is actually involved in the community. Thats why I love this topix. Me and everyone can come on here and say anything we want and post under multiple names and be disrespectful and not be held accountable for anything thats said.

So why have a debate if you've already made up your mind?

Seems I've ruffled a feather or two. My apologies to Mr. Branch. He has served his community and I do not want to be disrespectful. My personal choice of the three candidates would be Judge Karr. Not that I disrespect any of the candidates that have filed, but I do think that since this is a paid position with a portion of my tax dollars being involved, that I should carefully conisider my options. I think this is the right of any American voter. I voiced my opinion only and nothing more. Thank you Mr. Branch (aka crossways...LOL) for your service to our town. I think change was made with the last election when Judge Karr lost and that "change" proved to not be a very good "choice" by our voters. I would hope we learned a valuable lesson and now we can restore a proven source of leadership in this position, which I "personally" believe is Judge Karr.
And I am not posting under several different names. I came on here to see what was going on in the 'Topix World' while I sat idley by waiting on a mechanic to jump start my car and that is all. Good luck to all candidates and I still think a debate would be good. The debate would not be for my pleasure, but for our voting Americans and fellow Precinct 4 ciitizens. Obviously someone thinks since I have my choice made that these candidates should be subjected to a public Q&A as well as a debate. I have really been interested in the debate process because of the highly publicized debates on TV and I think it is a good way to help people decide. Good luck again to all.

i am definately not Mr Branch although I have met him and the other candidates and Judge Jack James. I personally like Judge James and think hes done fantastic job along with Judge Beaty. I dont have anything bad to say. I think they all have qualities that may work and I think they deserve a fair shake.

Looks as if Mr. Karr is a favorite so far. I am sure this is a highly scientific poll and the winner has been projected to be Mr. Karr by a 2-1 margin.

Mr. Karr is the logical choice, however the other two running deserve at least a look at their qualifications.

Back to the topic at hand. Is there going to be a debate? Will we be able to ask questions? When I say "we", I mean the general public. Some important questions would be;
1. Have you ever held a position that deals directly with the public?
2. Has any of these positions ever had a direct connection to law enforcement?
3. Are you interested in the position for;
a.Your ego?
b.The chance to hold a big office in the new courthouse?
c.To make improvements in the office and how it relates to people in your precinct?
d.To automatically go in with the purpose to change as much as possible so that you can wholely own that position?
e.The money?
f.Geniune interest in Public Safety?
g.Just another step in political aspirations?
h.To use the position to expand and/or use your expertise and knowledge to help the citizens of Precinct 4?
i.You are just like most of us and you are unemployed and you need to work somewhere? Anywhere?
j.This looks like an interesting and adventurous job dealing with crime and all that exciting stuff.

I think these are all valid questions. I would like to see a forum with all the candidates. I have not seen anything online or in the paper. Please let me know so i can attend.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Sagittarius

Relationships have been going through through testing times since the Solar Eclipse at last month's New Moon in Gemini on May 20. Events may force you to reevaluate the state of a partnership. You may even decide that you need to make some major adjustments if things are to carry on as you would like. During the coming fortnight leading up to the rare second New Moon in Gemini, this may feel like a crisis, but that doesn't mean you should abandon all hope or throw out the baby with the bathwater.
