That appears to be the case. An estimated 12 million illegals living in the U.S. and it's suddently ok?

"The Obama administration will insist on measures to give legal status to an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants as it pushes early next year for legislation to overhaul the immigration system, according to Janet Napolitano".

What about people all across the U.S. serving time for fraud, for example. How can the gov't on one hand say it's illegal (and it is), yet allow someone from another country to perpetrate fraud by not paying taxes, receiving free healthcare, enrolling their children in public schools.... Are we going to hold our own citizens to a standard that we won't hold other countries' citizens to - on our soil no less!

Noone has said a word about how this next fiasco would work.

Would it be just one morning every one on american soil would be magicly all citizens....would all illegals have to register before a centain date to be legal, what would happen tp all illegals after that date, what to do with all the people studying to become citizens, etc, etc, etc, etc,........think of the thousand or so other factors that enter such a situation.

This is looking more like yet another monumental government clusterfluck that will require a whole new department to be created with billions more dollars spent in order for obama and congress to avoid making a responseable decision about handling another problem the country is facing.

As if this has anything to do with allowing ALL illegals to become legal.

But, yes.....you are right.

Exactly....

I wonder what the states will come up with to handle the additional millions of people that will automaticly qualify for unemployment, welfare, food stamps and other such programs.

The government is opening a can of worms with no bottom to it.

This would push our country over the edge, I believe. We're already experiencing a record financial crisis. I will say that I do not blame the Obama Administration for all of the illegals that are currently here. We have been far too lax with controlling our borders for far too long. However, if this administration seeks to grant amnesty to illegals, then they are part of the problem and not the solution.

We can arrest all the offenders and send them back home...to Texas.
We'll need to look for more roofers, painters, cab drivers, traveling county fair personnel, farmers...etc.
Would this mean hospitals would stop expanding their emergency rooms?
Would JTA stop bus service? Would our jail population be reduced in half and therefore we can cut our police protection budget in half?
And what would we do with all the left over Pit Bulls? Who would get their main source of protection?...or would the Pit Bulls have to leave too?
Just shocking thoughts of what we can do with the illegals that President Obama, all by himself, let in over the past 50 yeasrs.

I have begun to understand obama's method of handling problems.

He does not solve problems or find solutions. He changes his thinking about the problem thereby making it OK and then seeks to make it OK with everyone else.

He is incapable of actually solving a problem. Problem solving is not a part of his mental make-up.

Read my post above. I'm not blaming the current administration for illegals being here. It has been an ongoing problem, but to deny that it is a problem or make light of it is simply denial. The reality is that Barack Obama is the sitting president, and he can be held to account for what he chooses to do going forward. Amnesty should not be a consideration.

crimson's solution is to massage bitterness and hatred toward an ex-prez, ignore U.S. laws, and create and even larger problem.

In other words do nothing about the problem, just accept it, hate Bush and make the problem OK.

Illegals will get free health care and retroactive social security benefits. You will get prison time for not signing up for their forced health care.

What is your answer to the problem?
If there was a reasonable answer that would work I would think maybe one of the past six or seven Presidents would have taken care of the problem. We had the same amount of Vice Presidents with brains on board for the past 30 years. They had no answer either.
All we are doing here is typing on a key board with regard to this problem...we don't have a workable solution either.

Bush wanted amnesty for illegals (the infamous "path to citizenship") as much as Obama. The difference is that many Americans of Independent, Republican and Libertarian ilk rose up massively against the attempt by Kennedy and McCain to make it happen. Average Joe American is tired of crooks stealing across the border and stealing our tax payer dollars for welfare, healthcare, education and now available jobs. Washington Pols are the ones who want the power and the votes.

That's a defeatist attitude if there ever was. I don't have to have a perfect solution to know a bad one when it hear it, and amnesty is saying it's okay.

Amnesty is saying if you can reach the U.S. then it's okay. You will have access to jobs, healthcare, education, public assistance, etc. You can work here and then send money to your native country to bolster their economy, instead of paying your fair share of taxes to promote the economy in which you're working, living, seeking healthcare, getting a free education for your children, etc. There is no equity in that whatsoever.

Better border control is a good first start, with stiff prison sentences for those who make their "living" smuggling illegals into this country.

You're absolutely right. Our elected officials are willing to sell us out in order to further their own political agenda.
