Actually I do not believe there is anything on the books, requiring anyone to have their house painted.. LOL. That one would really be pushing things a lil to far in my opinion. As for things being sent to city hall, yes everything was actually emailed to all elected and non elected officials of Kewanee. Just about every location that was mentioned in the start of this thread has had yellow noticed posted due to mentioned problems.. I myself do not understand why the city claims that there is not much they can do about the *ticking bomb* at the north east corner of third and east streets..(bushes the obstruct the view from the stop sign from the east.. I just dont get it at all..

Any ways, this is what you do .Call it in. a code violation is usually overlooked unless it is called in..I call in a violation if it is severe enough.they take action..Dont approach residents or you end up with assholes like on this forum(steve). Just turn them in.We pay a lot of taxes to put up with dumps in town like Murpheys and the humane society and countless other areas..including the trash in city hall. I will be moving forward with the next stage of my mission and publicly speaking on what I am doing to change things and get people like "steve" to go away. I am looking at a purchaser who is interested in buying the old boiler shop area or Kirk Danas to plant a walnut grove...this would really help these areas..this is along the lines of my retirement trees program..# and a half acres could hold 300 hybrid walnut trees..

Will walnut trees grow on the contaminated soil of the old boilershop ??? If so, then that would be neat to "re-forest" the whole piece of property !! It will never be developed for industrial use again. The current company that occupies the place barely uses any of the property, and for what, who knows ?? Planting some trees there REALLY sparks my interest !!! Please keep me updated....

The northern 2/3 rds. of the property is unused.(by humans) That would be really cool to redevelope that, and get some use of it. Yes, a fruit orchard or walnut grove is about the best idea i have probably ever heard. I live nearby... I would help, but I realize there would be ALOT of obstacles to hurdle. Is it really feasible, BHCO guy ????????? Anxiously waiting for your thoughts !

exactly sparky..trees are a great source of bio-remediationnd the also hate "wet feet". I invite you too see the trees I have planted on Adams road, that rocky and coal filled soil had to be dug with a pick ax..the trees are huge in circumference.I can tell you that "if it grows in wood ,it is good" so fruit is fine in these areas as well.Look at the amount of money that could be generated for future grand children, by helping me acquire these areas as a charity.Using grants and donations(soon)you could sponsor a tree(some type of nut but hardwood)for a dollar 150.00. BHCO would manage that treefor its life in return for the fruit and nuts(same rules as my sponsor a fruit tree lots and memorial lots, except you get the tree in the end)When the tree is of mature logging age,the reqired persons will be notified to recieve the tree.I have it all down but you get the Idea. This is why I need public support.I am forming more than a charity and trying to clean up your town.I anm trying to get some good jobs here..green jobs =green monies for all stages from fruit and nut processing to wine and juice, bee keeping lumber mill, travel to kewanee (new train station) and reflect in our memorial orchards eat in our new resturant winery stay in our historic factories turned "green" hotels..see our beautiful parks and our clean!!!!!city..Tourism is the biggest income generator for the buck..I have so much more but first we need to start getting along, and getting together. I have even though about what job in the city I could create the biggest difference the fastest. Hmm wonder what job I could do? I wonder if I am human enough to be your mayor?

we dont want permission as much as we want to buy it,thanks for the heads up on the hard sale though. One of the great things about the charity is that land can be donated, and fair market value can become a write off.this makes for an appealing proposition..here is an example
If you buy a lot for 631.oo and donate it to9 BHCO,you receive fair market value of aprox 3600..so 3600 minus 631 + assessment fee(250).for easy math we will say you invest 1000 and got 3600 worth of value..2600 tax write off for your 1000 dollars..how awesome is that..its a 150% return..so you either pay uncle sam or me..with me the orchard will be left to all who have participated when I die, therefore it will continue forever..(if I can get it to the state of"creation" needed to elevate it into becoming an entity of prosperity and replication of patterned growth.===unstoppable sorry I didn't mean to get off track, its just that I love sharing the details whenever possible..anthony i am so busy i am not proofreading these post so I hope they are satisfactory.

I don't see any reason why nice trees wouldn't grow on the Boiler Shop land. Look at the north side of the lot. Plants have no problem growing there! It's totally over grown. It would be nice to remove one eyesore from along the tracks. The city board wants to promote tourism with the new station, but who would want to get off here if all they see is run down factories, a salvage yard, the city works, and a bunch of crappy houses? Let's just take a bulldozer, and run it along the tracks from Lexington Ave. to the Boiler Shop!

I hope that when the time comes that I will be able to hire people to pick.If not I am surely going to be busy..as for your comment on hireing only americans..I am of cherokee indian and german origin..so I am not sure what you are getting at..I am not racist.I dont like lazy or entitled persons,I have a stepson in China and I have traveled the world working construction. Now we seem to be getting of subject of what the programs I am offering are about, and how they can change the world we live in by changing the way we see each other.Their is plenty of everything to go around if we are willing to work for it. Right now I plan on doing it all myself and with the help of my group of friends who have been with me since the beginning. I only got on here to share what I am doing in hopes to straighten some things out and give people a chance to get involved, seems I have reached all who were willing to listen..Dont want to overstay my welcome so.Goodbye..I have a world to change,I cant be taking steps backwards.

How do we get the ball rolling ??? I would start helping transform the old boiler property today..but not sure how to get the idea into motion... The property has been neglected and forgotten about for wayyyyyy to long. A walnut grove would be pretty darn neat !!! What steps need to be taken ??

Ticking time bomb across from ghetto gas..

155.046 VISION CLEARANCE ON CORNER LOTS.
No building or structure hereafter erected and no planting or other obstruction to the vision of drivers of motor vehicles shall be located:

(A) In any R Districts, exceeding a height of three feet above the street grade within 12 feet of the intersecting street lines bordering corner lots, and

(B) In any B or M Districts, within eight feet of the intersecting street lines bordering a corner lot, provided that this regulation shall not apply to that part of a building above the first floor.

('71 Code, 11-4-12)(Ord. 1413, passed 9-13-60) Penalty, see 155.999

It seems to me the city of kewanee does not follow the rules that they create.. Imagine that..

Whether you agree with him or not, at least he is TRYING to do something. Many people contribute money to charities around town. And most of us pay taxes toward city improvements. But those that do active work also need to remember that not everyone has enough time in their day to do actual labor- parents w/ kids, elderly, people who work long or odd hours. Everything starts with the city council and the mayor. If we all put enough pressure on them, they will at least have to address what is brought forth to them at some point.
