Rite-Aid, Stop & Shop, CVS, all sell greeting cards. All have office supplies, and Stop&Shop carries Staples products. N.A. has a Staples. Wal-Mart carries the same and more.

On Spring St. and on Main St. in N.A., McClelland's has had a tough time competing. I also think Mr. Elder's other business interests require more attention, and you can only send money down a hole so long.

The Transcript is North Adams based.

Geography is NOT an MCAS subject.

Since schools all teach to the MCAS, why teach it. So, they just don't know where Cheshire is.

LOL, my favorite Transcript goof-up was on their website where the headline screamed about a successful long-range bombing run against the Taliban in Afghanistan. The article itself was about Shamrock flying out of the NA Airport.

Talk about your long-rang bombing runs, indeed! I actually printed it out to send to Leno. LOL!!!

People and papers make mistakes, just chuckle and get on with life.

Is the NAT trying to pull another fast one & hope we don't understand the difference between Cheshire & Billsville?

Does anyone need more proof this rag isn't fit to line the bottoms of bird cages with?

Maybe they laid off the editor? Or, was it a senior moment? LOL!!!

You might as well not waste your time commenting on this. NAT is ridiculous. Every day there are multiple mistakes. It won't be long until there isn't a transcript anymore.

It is sad to see McClellands close. It was always a big part of Spring Street and Williamstown!

An editor messed up the headline in our online version, and we have fixed it. The headline in our print version did, of course, have the store in Williamstown. Mistakes happen. We apologize. I'm still trying to figure out what a "standby" store is, however. Perhaps the headline writer thought stationery and wrote standby. Life goes on, but we'll be shaking our heads for awhile.

Right, I mean, what is there in Cheshire that's actually open in order to close? Convenience Plus?

Actually, I enjoyed the interesting typeface used under Jen Huberdeau's name in the Eagle this morning (story about the mayoral debate). The typeface is one of those Wingdings ones ... anyone good at puzzles can figure out it is supposed to read New England Newspapers.

25 years ago today

SAVOY -- More than 100 people joined a 16-year-old Savoy youth as he was presented with the Boy Scouts of America’s Eagle Scout award Sunday during a banquet at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Savoy. Phillip Reeves of Main Road was honored at a banquet organized to recognize his achievements as a Boy Scout and a member of the community.

it's all john barrett's fault as some of the haters/alcombright supporters would lead you to believe. same with agway, harringtons, moulton's junk shop, los amigos, etc.

yup, the power and influence of the king is far reaching.

Local Guy: Your comment is completely false. I am curious about people like you who have the time to write these nonsensical, inaccurate lies. Maybe you should consider working...I have to take time out of my 50 hour week to write this response so that the North Adams folk do not get panic stricken.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Taurus

If you've been neglecting that special someone in your life over the past few days because you've been so busy with the festivities, try to make up for it today. Maybe you could have some time alone with them, or perhaps you simply need to remind them how much you love them. Don't be afraid to open up your heart to them, and to let them do the same to you.
