1 going into painstaking of a revisionist re-writing of Hellenic History in order to say 1-that the World Academia should leave FYROM 'historians' continue with their lies ,their completely un-academic approach to what ammounts to a 'war' against greek history. 2-they fail to explain what is THEIR interest in misrepresenting greek history? If,Macedonians had not been Greeks would that interest a bunch of multi-ethnics, the result of ottoman rule social-racial mixes,and how? |

1 Ha ha ha ! Challenging Stephen G. Miller ha ha ha! The clown challenging the professor! Ha ha ha! Just because Macedonians were fighting against some other Greeks and thus they couldn’t be Greeks! Ha ha ha Like the Athenians were fighting against the Spartans ha ha ha! Who were not the Greeks here? The Athenians? The Spartans? Ha ha ha ! And the Spartans against the Thebeans! Ha ha ha Who were not the Greeks here ? The Spartans? The Thebeans? Ha ha ha! And the Thebeans against the Phoceans And the Phoceans against the Thessalians And the Thessalians against the Macedonians Who of them were not the Greeks? The Phoceans? The Thessalians? The Macedonians? Hahahahahahaha! All of the ancient Greek history is full of civil wars of one Greek State (or alliance of Greek states) against another. Hahahahahaha! I am sure Prof. Miller wont be that naïve to waste even a second for a scum like Gandeto. A totally brainwashed wanna be historian! Hahahahhaha! What a lol! This letter to President Obama signed by tens of (real) scientists has deeply agitated them Ha ha ha A very good night! |

1 But just to add a little spice to the argument that will upset the FYROMians, there is another man who admits that Alexander was Greek. Many FYROMians do not know this about DEMOSTHENES but he also states that Alexander is Greek. This alone proves that his remark about the barbarian Phillip was just a figure of speach since he was his enemy at the time. Hell, didnt president Bush call Iran, Syria and N. Korea, the axis of evil because they are ememies? Does that make their citizens devils and the US angels? |

1 I'll say it again for effect... I AM GREEK... Any closer to beleiving me..???? Saying and being are worlds apart. By saying he was Greek it made his invasion and occupation easier to swallow for the uneducated ancients. A lot of ancient Greek writers say "Alexandar wasn't Greek" and also "he declared himself to be Greek"... Just because he declared it, did they beleive it any more than you beleive that I am..?? See the logic behind your arguments is totally flawed.... Phillip and Alexander also declared that they were related to the gods... Me too, I am the son of zeuss, in his direct bloodline in fact... Do you beleive me...???? That is what your argument is based upon... I'm not saying he was Slavic... Never have... Simply what many Greek historians say "HE WASN'T GREEK".... |

1 Following your logic, what makes you think you are Alexander's descendant. Is there a single thing that you have in common with ancient Macedonians? Beacause the fact that you happen to live in a small part of the ancient macedonian terrtiory doesn't mean you are a macedonian. If that was so, all americans would claim to be Indians and have "Sitting Bull" as their forefather. Your reasoning is leaking... |

It was a common belief in ancient times for the highborn to claim that they were descendants of superior being like gods. Greeks, Egyptians, Romans, they all made the same claim, this is nothing unusual about Alexander. What IS unusual is the claims that you make of being macedonians although you have nothing in common with them (if you do have, you are welcome to prove so). |

I am not related to Alexander... I am Greek... See I proclaimed it again... Related to the ancients in fact...
Modern Greeks claim to be related to the ancients too despite none of them being able to prove it any more than I can... Are there DNA traces from ancient times that we can compare..??? Have populations not migrated at all in Greece... ever... Despite Greeks popping up almost everywhere throughout history... The fact that populations have moved, mixed, spread and been watered down into relative obscurity suggest that pretty much everyone in Europe is part Greek.. And as such has equal claim to that which Greeks claim as their own... Likewise with Macedonians... Ergo, anybody can call their nation Macedonia if no nation exists already... Based on nothing more than a Geographic connection (just like modern Greek claims over ancient Greece - simply Geographic). Is it so difficult..???? |

2 Macedonia and the ancients doesn't belong to modern Greeks... they stole it, perhaps were given it or maybe simply adopted it... Either way it's not rightfully theirs (receiving stolen goods is as much a crime as theft).. Prior to the Balkan wars large parts of what is now Greece were taken... they were never Greek before... Not on any map.. See, if you steal something then it's not a good idea to leave evidence of your theft around for investigators (hence the Greek genocide against all things ethnically Macedonian). Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on your side) this genocide was incomplete, and therefore plenty of evidence exists (the UN spent a whole 30 seconds before they found it)... The Greeks took something during the Balkan wars that wasn't theirs for the taking... Macedonia... And the Macedonians want it back.!!!! |

1 So Pelagonia back to its owners! Prior to the Balkan Wars Macedonia was an ottoman region. If you feel nostalgic for this situation ,it's your right. Macedonians are free now thanks to our forefathers' sacrifices. |

1 I dont understand your logic. You say: "I can be anybody I say I am". If we base any coversation on that logic there is no need to make any conversation on any topic or debate anything, ever. You also say "just because Alexander said he was Greek doesnt make him Greek" With that reasoning we cannot believe anything anybody says throughout history on anything.If the president of the United States says pay your taxes he doesnt mean it, he's just bluffing. And to top it off you say: "Alexander said he was Greek so it would be easier to swallow for the uneducated Greeks". Well, what about his great great grandfather Alexander I ,who also said he was Greek? Did he have intentions of invading Greece then? And why didnt Alexander say he was Persian so the uneducated Persians would swallow it better? Why didnt he say he was Indian when he crossed the Indus? And why on earth once he conquered the world didnt he spread the "Macedonian language and culture" instead of the Greek? You also say "many historians say he wasn't Greek". Which historians are those to be trusted most, his contemporaries or today's? If you can name me 1 historian who says he wasnt Greek I can name you 100 who say he was.So who do you believe, 1 historian to your liking or 100 to your disliking? Even Demosthenes states that Alexander is Greek, so which historian specifically are you refering to? When you reason like that you make no sense at all. |
|||
Please give us the ancient Greek writers you mention and their texts where they say Alexander was not a Greek. Also to say something is not enough; Alexander proved his sayings about being Greek with his acts. He fought for Greece, he spread the Greek culture, the Greek religion and the Greek language through all over the then known world. You see by saying that he was Greek he really meant it... |

1 The fact that Greeks of the time didn't consider Alexander to be Greek (despite what he himself decreed) and Greek historians of today don't either (despite what Greek politicians decree), suggest to me that Alexander wasn't Greek... Equally he wasn't Slavic... He was Macedonian. As there wasn't ever a nation of Macedonia (according to Greeks who say it was simply a Greek province) then what is to stop anybody calling their nation Macedonia today..??? It suggests ownership of parts of modern Greece..? How exactly did Greece receive these lands..????? So, possibly a valid argument given that they were conquered. The Macedonian language is recognised by the International Standards Organisation (ISO), an organisation that Greece is a member of. The ethnicity exists both in the Republic of Macedonia and Greece (the UN found it)... The constitution of the Republic of Macedonia forbids it from trying to reclaim land that many beleive is rightfully it... The European court has told Greece to pay damages to Macedonians who lost their property... And now we have the World Court deciding if Greece broke the UN accord... How many times can Greece use it's veto before organisations simply change the rules..??? |

1 First I would appreciate if you would answer my previous questions. As far as paying retributions, if we were to start that subject, Greece would become the richest country in the world from the retributions Turkey would have to pay back, just as Cyprus would be as well. The whole world as a matter of fact would spend their entire GNP on paying retributions to their neighbors. But the difference here is that you never had a nation. So pay retributions to whom? In a war people flee, there are the winners and the losers, thats the way it goes, thats why there are post war agreements to which both sides abide to. The only way to cancel a post war agreement is to go to war again. Is that what you want? I surley dont. As far as I see it you can thank the Greeks who were the first to start their revolution against the Turks in the Balkans and cause the domino affect among the other nations for independence. you are free in a way because of us! |
