New fires flare up near Fairbanks - KTVA

My boyfriend is a hot shot working on one of the fires in the Railbelt Complex. I have been trying to keep up on latest developements and this site is the most up to date that I've seen. Thanks for your timely reporting. And to all of your readers, please keep all of the firefighting crews in your thoughts and prayers...and please be patient, they're all doing the best they can to get these fires under control. I've been on sites that have done nothing but badmouth the firefighters and the progress they have made...it's not their fault! They work 16 hour days in unimaginably dangerous conditions, no showers and barely any time to rest. They're away from their families for weeks at a time with hardly any contact. If they weren't there, who knows what damage these fires would be capable of causing. Give these brave and dedicated men and women a break! Thanks to all of you who support their efforts!
