Robbery suspect is found in ditch
ARLINGTON -- It was a case of bad timing for a man suspected of robbing several local banks in the past two months.
Off-duty police officer Marcus Dixon was driving past the Wachovia Bank at 5615 S.W. Green Oaks Blvd. on Friday when he saw a man run out and jump into a waiting car, police said.
About 4:10 p.m., Dixon told a 911 dispatcher that he was following an orange Chevrolet Cobalt and asked for backup.
When they arrived minutes later, the officers arrested Jami Annette Ward, 24, of Arlington, who was sitting in the Cobalt at Park Springs Road and Southwest Green Oaks Boulevard. The bank robber had gotten out of the vehicle and fled on foot, police said. Read more
