I was born & raised in WF & have lived in Plano for the past 18 years. I can give you several million reasons why it is in Plano & not WF. I'm not trying to be snooty, I really do like WF & my mother still lives there. Just being honest.

Isn't saying "upscale walmart" an oxymoron?

Kinda like saying "drug free plano"?

Last year H. Lee whined that nearly 40% of Wal-Mart customers don't have checking accounts,an indication of poverty. Bentonville can put in all the faux wood floors and "pricey" gourmet items they want, but I don't think upscale folks will voluntarily rub elbows with the average Wal-Mart shopper, even in Plano.

A friend of mine dropped by there and said there was a 500.00 bottle of wine and a sushi bar. Outside of that, its still a Walmart

A five hundred dollar bottle of wine at Walmart may be the first sign of the apocolypse.

If they're trying an upscale store to attract upscale shoppers, they'd better get upscale employees.

I feel like this move to put in an upscale Walmart will be moderately successful, but it will say nothing about Walmart. Rather, it will only reinforce the air of Southern pomp and arrogance that is present in North Dallas. I drive from Dallas to McKinney every morning for work, and I swear to God I see at least 3 Hummers every morning. Who needs a car that gets 8 feet to the gallon? I'll tell you who: the same type of people that will shop at hardwood floors, kiss-your-ass, upscale Walmart.

You are too funny because everyone knows Plano is fleeing the influx of Mexicans and drugs that have over taken Plano..Most of Plano are selling out and running farther away from the lives they left Dallas and other places to make..I would be willing to bet that if your house is not up for sale you live along side some of the golf courses
that are still out of reach for HUD...But don't worry you will be able to sell soon because all of your neighbors are running out on you.

Actually, Marie, Plano is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation according to the data from this website:

http://www.city-data.com/top32.html

If you'll notice, Plano's neighbor, McKinney, is #1 on that list.

It is unfortunate for you that most of your arguments are just your uneducated and racist opinion, and are not based firmly on any sort of factual data to speak of.
