Has anyone else had problems w/Sgt. R.W. being rude to them? I got a speeding ticket the other day...which I deserved because I WAS speeding...I just didn't realize I was in a 25 mph zone...well this gentleman got out of his patrol car, ticket book in hand and was being down right rude...or a smart a** I can't really determine which. I didn't get out w/an attitude or anything of the sort...I truly do respect law enforcement officers and think they are overworked and underpaid for the jobs they do...but this guy had an attitude from hell! I did tell him that I was sorry and didn't realize that I was in a 25 mph zone I was doing around 43 when I was clocked so it wasn't like I was doing 60+ or anything just horrible. Again I am not debating the fact that I have this ticket or the fact that I am going to have to pay it I am, however, wondering if anyone else has had a bad experience w/this officer or if maybe I just caught him on a bad day? Would love to hear anyone else's opinions on this matter....

Weaver? Ah, hell yeah. People have problems with him all the time. You are not alone in your discontentment. I personally think he lives for that kind of crap.

yes he is a sorry ass!! But it kinda looks like your being a baby because you got a ticket!!! Maybe police should give complimentary cups of coffee before issuing tickets!!! Or maybe just maybe police should just let all violators go away!! I got a ticket the other day for a seatbelt yeah i was pissed but I was just pissed at myself not the officer I didnt make an excuse!!! Once again Mr. Weaver is a grumpy sorry man but just make sure your made for the right reason.

Really? Have known him for years and never in my life would have gotten that vibe from him. I personally think he is great guy! Sorry you got that impression. Just remember, you never know what is going on w/ the person that you get that vibe from....

I will say this. He is the only cop I have ever known that gave a parking ticket to a fire truck.

He is a smartass cop that has no clue how to talk to people. He has never written me a ticket. I have been there when he was writting tickets and he is a smartassfromhell. By the way he is not over worked and underpaid. He is under worked and over paid.

He is a JACKASS. I called to tell his Lt. this and to report his attitude, to which he said: "you're not telling me anything I don't already know". What will they do about it? Nothing, nothing at all. He's not the only one in the NPD with a piss-poor attitude, either.
It doesn't sound to me that colcat has an axe to grind about the ticket. He just sounds upset that he was treated disrespectfully. The bad thing is, further contact with said officer will result in more of the same. Randy "A-hole" Weaver needs to remember who pays his salary. Even when you break the law, the police should treat you with respect, if they expect any in return. Just because they stand behind a little tin badge, all these "Barney Fife's" like him don't deserve any more respect than any other citizen. " Really? Have known him for years and never in my life would have gotten that vibe from him. I personally think he is great guy! Sorry you got that impression. Just remember, you never know what is going on w/ the person that you get that vibe from.... " Hey, dude, I get the vibe that your name on this forum should be "clueless". Look at all the other posts, maybe you're the one with the wrong impression. |
Ha! I remember that. Said it was illegally parked, in a fire zone. Hearing that, I had to just stop and smile. Not because I was glad but because of how extremely ludicrous it was. I acctually thought it was a joke but I heard it from some sources that it was true. Things like that are his simple pleasures... |

I don't think anyone said he should kiss ass. But we don't have to kiss his, either. He needs some lessons on how to treat people, the same people who pay his salary. He can enforce the law without being such a jackass to boot. |

Last I checked the cops pay taxes just like everyone else. So does that mean they pay their own salary or what. Do they get their taxes back, are they tax exempt or something? If not then it seems to me that they pay their own salary, right? All these people saying that they pay the cops when in reality they pay the same taxes everyone else does so they pay their own salary.

RW has always been nice to me. Never had any problems with him. He never gave me a ticket. I like him and have respect for the man.

I'll say it......... At least he had the balls to do it! Everybody talks about the so-called buddy system here, this proves he doesn't partake in that, just does his job as an officer of the law. |

Okay ppl I never said I DIDN'T deserve the ticket NEVER!!! If you will reread my post I was asking if I had just caught him on a bad day!!! I didn't want to pass judgement on this officer w/o knowing him!! And NO I DO NOT expect him to kiss my ass..I really DIDN'T realize I was in a 45 mph zone I DIDN'T say I DIDN'T deserve this ticket I am NOT whining about the ticket "cheese w/whine" I just inquired about the man's attitude and wanted to know if I had caught him on a bad day...you NEVER know what someone else is going through so I wanted a general idea on his attitude. He doesn't have to kiss my ass while giving me a ticket BUT he also doesn't have to go out of his way to be rude and a smart alec either! Some of the remarks he made were uncalled for...I know several other officers w/this department and other departments surrounding the area and have ran the WHOLE uncensored conversation by them and they have all said the same thing he was not JUST doing his job...he was being a butthole. I met him at the back of my car w/my license, proof of insurance, and my registration. I didn't act ugly or anything my thought was uh oh what have I done...He was just rude and a smart alec...the ONLY reason I started this thread was as I said to see if I had caught him on a bad day or if this was his general attitude either way I still am going to pay my ticket because I WAS speeding when he clocked me and I deserved to get the ticket...now I know where that particular 25 mph zone is and will NOT be speeding through there again...at least I learned something from it. I have also learned that the majority of these posters say this is his general attitude so I now realize I didn't get any special treatment from him just the same old attitude he has w/several other ppl and the fire department apparently. Thank you all for your input it was much appreciated!!

What exactly did he do or say that was rude or smart a**? Since you were (according to your own admission) driving approximately 18 MPH over the posted speed limit; were you traveling on neighborhood streets or a back road? Since you are soliciting opinions, once I have the above information I will give mine. |

I was on a main street in town and he was just very rude...asked why I was driving the vehicle I was in when it wasn't registered in my name...registered in my hubby's....and then wanted to know why he wasn't married to so and so anymore...then just caught an attitude w/me because he doesn't like my hubby...some bad blood between the two of them from many years ago...I actually signed my ticket and told him to have a nice day and was being sincere...I have MANY friends that work for departments other than here..I would NOT dream of being anything but nice to a police/sheriff's officer...after all they are the one's who protect and serve us...they are as I said before overworked and underpaid for the jobs they do...I am not griping about the ticket I just believe they can be all business when they get out to write their citations..you know the general license, registration, proof of insurance, I stopped you because_____________ please sign this citaion here you are to be in court or have it paid by such and such date...I am not asking for anyone to kiss my butt or to have a conversation w/me I just want everyone treated the same way...it matters not who they are or what they do I believe if you are messing up then you SHOULD get in trouble for whatever it is you have done and I was doing wrong I got my ticket I just got it w/an attitude and that's the only thing I am debating is the attitude....
