Wal-Nuts is the last place I go for ANYTHING. Their meat is adulterated with a "15% solution" of basically saline solution and other chemicals, thereby giving it more weight, but no taste and lousy texture, so they can sell it cheaper. The way they treat their vendors is atrocious. The way they treat their front-line employees borders on criminal and just try finding anything made in the USA, which, some years ago, was one of their strongest and most successful marketing campaigns. But then, most of this crap started AFTER Mr. Sam died. This is his heirs doing this and in the end, they will have a lot of answering to do. Going there is a nightmare.

1 u Would be the same most likely anyplace she worked. This not an unusual clause in an employer's health care policy. Several options were available, like having the defendant reimburse walmart as part of the settlement, but they didn't negotiate for that. Some folks just don't like walmart, so this gives them a platform. Her dilema is sad, but it is not walmart's Blame the folks who caused the accident, not the people who provided her health insurance and honored the conditions of the coverage. Of course there is the option of electing democratics who will mandate your coverage....see what happens then when you win your lawsuit....the government will recoop its costs for its outlay for your coverage. |

1 This is what chaps my A$$, the mentalitiy that "they don't need it"... well, by that no one should ever earn over $XXX amount because they don't need it. I'm no fan of Wal-mart, but it's made up of stock holders who need to retire on it, employees with profit sharing, etc. It's sad, but they didn't read the fine print and now want a lawyer to get them out of the contract. They won a lawsuit to cover the lady's costs, so why should the insurance co pay for the same thing? |

I JUST WISH WE HAD A LITTLE BIT MORE OPTIONS WHEN IT COMES TO SHOPPING. WAL-MART KNOWS THEY ARE THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN. UNLESS YOU WANT TO GO TO SHREVEPORT OR ALEXANDRIA AND ALOT OF PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE THE TIME OR GAS. I TRY TO GO TO BROOKSHIRES OR EVEN FREDS AND THE DOLLAR STORE. BUT THERE IS SOMETIMES I HAVE TO GO TO WALLY WORLD AND ME AS A CUSTOMER HAS BEEN TREATED BADLY BY EMPLOYEES THERE BUT IF THEY ARE NOT TREATED FAIRLY THEN THEY TAKE IT OUT ON OTHERS. I ALSO REALIZED THEY PRICES HER ARE HIGHER THAN IN ALEX, OR SHREVE. AND THEY KNOW THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH IT.
AS FAR AS THE LAWSUITS IT WONT PUT A DENT IN THEIR POCKETS. AND THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION AND WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET A BUCK. THEY WILL CLAIM ANYTHING HAPPENED TO THEM EVEN IF THEY TRIP ON THEIR OWN FOOT IT IS ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSES FAULT. THERE IS JUST ALOT OF DISHONEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. I MAY NOT LIKE SOMEPLACE OR SOMETHING BUT I WOULD NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION UNLESS IT ABSOLUTELY WAS THEIR FAULT. |

I was in Shreveport today and the gas at WALMART was 3.08 -- why is it $3.13 (or more) in Natchitoches? Same thing w/Raceway --$3.06 in Shreveport --$3.13 in Natchitoches. What's up with that?

I remember when the old store was there, it was more of a homier, friendly feel there. The employees were always willing to lend a hand and help you find something or assist in some way. I also believe Sam Walton visited the stores often which increased employee moral. Now the people working there act like it's an inconvience when you ask a question. They are almost always out of something that you needed or quit carrying it. The door greeters stand there make their money but don't "greet anyone", There is a few that will have the buggies pulled out for you and then there are others who stand there talking with their friends while you have to go behing the plastic curtain to retrieve a cart. Wal-mart has deteriorated, not just here, everywhere. Oh yeah and the self-checkouts a joke they are broke most of the time, and then you have to stand in a long line because they don't have enough checkers checking.

The really bad guy here is the attorney who took over 50% of their settlement in legal fees. He had a really good day in court.

I myself has bought meat at walmart a couple of times and it was Bad! Looked good in the package but was ruined when it was opened! I buy all my meat at Brookshires. Also I have a problem with so many check out and only 3 or 4 checkers running the registers....especially on holidays! Are all those registers there just for looks?

1 Agree with you on the meat. Walmart does not want to pay union wages for a butcher, so they ship in a lot of "fresh" meat. As for the checkers, yea, you have many lines, few open, but I see that at other places too. What is frustrating is when you see employees on a bench watching one of there fellow workers busting their butt. Happens a lot at the FF places too....that is why I call it the "Natchitoches Attitude". As for Walmart specifically, last fall, my wife asked me to be home some fried chicken for the family. It was Monday at 5 PM when I entered the store. No chicken. "We haven't started cooking it yet," was the reply from the Bubba chicken cooker guy. I was told to come back in 45 minutes. I spoke to the manager, and was assured that it was a fluke, that the evening was the busiest time of day for the deli, and what I experienced never happened. Two days later, picking up an item for my wife, I was in the store at the same time of day. Strolled back to the deli, and guess what...no chicken. Having had the song and dance from the CSM, I identified the issue to the teller who laughed. She called the guy by name and said he is lazy, and knows if he has the first batch out on time, he will have to cook a second batch. If he is late, he only has to cook one batch. To hell with the customers, let's make sure he doesn't have to do his job and work to hard. It was exactly observations like this that lead to the coining of the phrase, "the Natchitoches Attitude". |

I went there to get some shrimp to boil. Basically all they had was from Thailand. I bought some by mistake one time. Never again!

I bought a beautiful roast there one time...ugh! When we opened it, the stench was awful! I double bagged it and took it back...They could smell it when I brought it in...their solution......get you another one...I said, I think not, I got my money back.

we have also gotten bad meat from walmart. and as far as the registers, i have been in line up to 45minutes and when it was my time the girl said her lane was closed. now what kind of crap is that. then i tried to go to another line and the girl started counting money, already knowing there was only 3 registers open, and the last one i would have been waiting another hour, so i just left and said the hell with it.. ITS NOT WORTH IT!!!

We are quick to judge the big companies like walmart, exxonmobil, merck and others. These companies provide all of us with the products we need and use daily. After hurricane Katrina Wal mart was one of the first offer products people needed in the hardest hit areas. If our government (who produce nothing) had reacted as well the hurricane castrophes wouldn't have been as severe.
