SB 653 Is in final passage are you curious to see who voted for it? Go look and read the bill in full.

SB.Has not gone that far YET but you also need to read it in full.Both will make your stomach turn like it did mine.
With prices of everything going up ain't it nice to be able to vote yourself a nice huge raise and be give a very very nice expence allowence on the backs of the people working to pay the tax! You must read both bills and add it up to come to the bottom line.advice sit down while you read it because it is a shocker.....

653 passed the senate. 672 has not yet come up for a vote. as of 3:00 Tuesday. If 672 pases, any chance Jindhal will veto the bill(s)?

Sounds like some more ethics reform is in order. Let the people decide if, when and how much the legislators get a raise.

This Senator Duplessis needs to be driven out of state on a rail after she is tar and feathered, put in stocks for a couple weeks, and let the folks have at her.

Idiotic. We have to work harder and do a better job to EARN a payraise. Apparently the Legislature is not bound by the same philosophy.

I need to get a gig where I can vote in my own payraise.

It's worse than that. They can afford to spend money on idiot pet projects and give themselves a pay raise, but to do so, they can't give us a repeal of the Stelly Plan, fix our roads, and they may have to take money away from our failing educational system.

I sure wish someone who wasn't a freaking idiot would run for office. Liberal, conservative, I don't give a damn. Just please god, have common sense.

What ever happened to being public servants? Legislators should make what the average Louisianan makes, not a cent more. If the good folks representing us want a pay raise, then they should be working to get better jobs and opportunities in the state so we the people can get a pay raise also. The politicians are mighty humble when trying to garner your vote, yet they "superior complex" when elected. I hate to say it, but this country needs some good ole vigilantism to straighten folks up.

I know two that had better enjoy their time in office,I think on the track their on it will be one term for them.

Along with this 317% pay raise, there is an increase in the expense account from $500 to $3,000.

Gerald Long is exactly what those who opposed him said he was, a tax and spend, get all I can for me liberal. The fact that I didn't vote for him is little consolation for his out of control support for tax and spend.

He's a Long. What else would we expect?
