Mayors Race has become interesting

I see that Lee Posey, Marvin Blake, J. W. Scarborough and Mrs. Fowler have all Qualified to run. This should be interesting, I wonder who will be in the run off?

Hope Marvin Blake and Fowler.. Don't see this town voting for a woman.

Who is J.W. Scarborough?
How will the Mayors race or rather the Parish President fit into this? Will we still have a Mayor?
Lee Posey is surely not our choice. As a council member, he didn't show us much in our district or do much for us.

JW ownes S&S flower shop.. Don't need him. LP will be the same as having what is in there now.. They are family.LP did not know half the time what was going on as a council member, so how can he do any good for this City..Feel like Fowler is in there to break up the votes for Posey.That so call group is wanting Posey in there.MISTAKE. Marvin Blake cannot manage his own affairs, how can he possible run the city? Lee Posey is the best candidate out of those mentioned. He has a successful business and will represent Natchitoches well. Why do you think Wayne McCullen has done a bad job? Our finances are in order. Our city is beautiful. We have tourist visit here.

What happened to Morrow's opponent? Everyone was so excited that she was being challenged and now nothing. Payoff? Treats? Disappeared? What?

All MuCullen did was help his buddies Pat Johnson and Gabe Ward get rich off Natchitohes. Lee Posey gonna do the same thing cause Pat is already giving Mike " Uncle Tom" Braxton money to go buy black votes for Lee. Any body know if this is against the law

City streets are falling apart. Traffic congestion is a nightmare. Most stop signs in town are sub-standard. Racial relations are the pits. The downtown area may look beautiful, even College Ave. looks beautiful, but at the expense of the basic needs of the citizens of Natchitoches. These are the things Wayne and the current city council has ignored.

I hope our next black mayor cuts out all these fireworks and downtown beautification projects and spends all our tax dollars in the black neighborhoods that have been neglected for so long.

Fireworks and downtown beautification brings tourists, tourists bring money, money means jobs for local citizens and tax money to help with neighborhoods, roads, police, firefighters and schools.

Now it's only in certain neighborhoods. That will change.

You are stupid. Black neighborhoods are neglected, because the blacks neglect them. They don't take care of their own property. If they are renters then they tear the property up. They also don't pay taxes on their property. There are blacks in every neighborhood in this town, anyway. Black people who take care of their property live in the nicer neighborhoods. These blacks don't have numerous children to collect more food stamps and get free housing. They are educated and have good jobs.

Natchitoches is the racist lil town I know, people wont stad together and join in the fight against the heavy drug traffic, low paying jobs, increase in housing assistance and help from the government. The only thing that seen to work if you dont have a job and getting helpfrom the system. I amso sick and tired of he same crap that going on in this lil town, they will still be hanging people if it was legal today.

If people actually "stood together" against the problems in this town such as crime, drugs, dilapidated neighborhoods, etc....you would REALLY call them racist!! Because the biggest source of all the problems are found predominately in BLACK communities!!

If blacks would get their sh*t together, become better parents and role models to their children this town would be a much better place for everyone!

We need a mayor who will promote Natchitoches like Joe Sampite did when he was in office. I have no problems with Wayne McCullen as mayor. He has done a good job. We need a successful businessman who has not had any personal financial problems. We do NOT need anyone who has taken bankruptcy. WE need someone who knows how to communicate well with people outside of Natchitoches. We need industry to come here, so we will have jobs. We need NSU to be successful and a mayor who will promote it. We need our tourist business. Blacks need to quit complaining. You get plenty of free services! We need people to work in this community and contribute to make this a better place to live. I agree with the poster above. Blacks need to start being better role models to their children. I feel extremely sorry for black children. Too many are raised in homes where no one is there to take care of them and when a parent is there, they are treated like animals. Many black women believe the more children they have the more government assistance they will receive. They do not consider the real needs of their children. These children become disruptive in school, because they are hungry, have not had enough sleep, and no one has helped prepare them for school, so they start way behind. They feel like failures and are not able to develop good self-esteem to be successful. It is a vicious cycle. Unwed mothers equals a life of poverty. The taxpayers eventually will not be able to support all of these people with the numbers growing at such a rapid rate. Something needs to change in the near future. I hope the voters will vote for the best candidate and not because of the candidate's race. Sad, because there are too many ignorant people voting.

Looking at the candidates I believe there are two that I would support. Have not made up my mind and have plenty of time to decide, but I think Lee Posey or Jaunita Fowler would make a great mayor.

There are really only two who are actually qualified to run the city, Juanita Fowler and Lee Posey. The other two candidates cannot successfully run their own businesses. If you can't run your own business you have no place trying to run anyone else's business. The mayor in effect is the CEO of Natchitoches and must be business minded, well thought of, well dressed, and well spoken, and most of all a peace maker.

If jobs here in natchitoches paid more more people would have jobs my aunt just had to quit a job because she couldn't afford to pay her bills with the she was making sad cause she tried hard couldn't afford to pay her rent couldn't get food stamps are get on housing they say said she made to much money but it wasn't enough to manage her bills and take care the kids so for now she's on housing and getting food stamps cause that's the only way she can make it couldn't get a second job cause of no babysitter couldn't afford that either so everybody that gets stamps an are on housing are not there cause they wanna be black people wake up it's time for us blacks here in natchitoches to start looking out for ourselves pot holes everywhere in our neighbor hoods I guess we taking busting holes in the streets to you don't see that cross town I agree front street generates a lot of money for the city but black folks don't see it black folks wake up you see what happens when stick together look at cox an his supporters ran a great campaign an won but some of us still let these white folks make us out of fools instead of all these blacks running for mayor get together an select just one we could win this thing help our people we take the money to split the votes for the black meanwhile this one white person gone get his votes from all his people hello it's sad to see black folks still having learned anything when our kids are are starving and being killed on these streets
