Maybe not, but if we learned anything in WW1 & WW2 it's that the world needs protection from over zealous Germans.

...and here's where you stick your foot in your mouth again because the only people "fighting" America are doing so through acts of terrorism.

Hey Frackhead.
Terrorists is what the British called Americans during the Revolutionary War. That is how a vastly inferior fighting force defeats a much larger military. Read your history. Besides, when the terrorists and radicals win, we call them freedom fighters. Hope you implode on that one;-)

I understand the point you're making and there is some truth in it. The British actually referred to the Revolutionary War as the "colonial rebellion". Webster defines those fighting in such a war as "rebels" or "revolutionaries", but not terrorists.

America did not travel to England and attempt to destroy their civilian populace. We did use what would be known as guerrilla warfare, much like the way the Viet Cong fought on their home turf.
To compare the colonists to terrorists is a bit of a stretch.

The problem is you don't know the difference between freedom and oppression.

Who are we taxing without representation?

It's true, headed-out last Monday...

Apparently the job opportunities are so great in Ark. that performance and reliability will no longer be issues for him...

On a happier note, I plan on putting your other daughter to work at the front-desk this week....I'M the second job, wish me luck!!

These numbers would appear to vary somewhat from those posted above. In particular, it shows far fewer retirees (those over 65) and a greater number not paying taxes (13% below poverty level plus many more paying little or nothing).

First of all, how many people do not fill out census report queries??? I can assure you, a lot !
However, I will give you kudos for doing some research. Incidentally, I have to refute your poverty percentage because you did not take into account that over 18 % off all below poverty lever individuals are 15 or younger…i.e. wouldn’t be paying taxes anyways….

Funny you should mention 15...that's the age I started mowing lawns for extra money.

Put over $500 in the bank that summer, guess what the IRS sent me for all my effort? i.e. Youth is not a tax exemption.

...and now you know that income rather than youth is the defining factor.

I didn't tell you I had to pay, only that I received paperwork from the IRS because I had money in the bank.

Some of these other users might BS you, don't assume the same of me.

There are extremes on both ends of the spectrum, darling...the Olsen Twins have probably been paying taxes since they were 3 or 4 and I'm SURE there are drug dealers making $100 a week while living in less than ideal conditions.

Here's part of the problem - what so many Americans rather shrilly call 'Socialism', we in the rest of the developed world call 'Social Justice.' It's how we avoid the emergence of these extremes that are beginning to threaten the fabric of American society.
Fair taxes, fairly applied, so that there really is equality of opportunity and minimal degrading poverty equals a socitey that can focus on making sure each successive generation has it better than the last.
Also you do need to find that sweet spot in the middle where you have sufficient regulation to prevent blatant ripping off of ordinary people without squashing creativity and entrepreneurship. It almost always lies somwhere in the middle of every spectrum of beleifs, and is found by coming together - somewhere in the middle.
A strong, vibrant middle class grows out of middle politics, middle beliefs - in short, tolerance.
