I saw a crawler yesterday that said Nat. parish should boil water before using it. I haven't heard anything since.
Any idea?

City of Natchitoches water has never been safe to drink unless you like your water with little crunchy things in it. I never drink Natchitoches water.

Quit being stupid!!! What is the real deal on our water? Is it safe to drink or do we need to boil this is important information. Right now your snide, disparagingly comments about Natch. water supply are very unnecessary. If you know the actual truth of the matter please let the rest of us know.

The news last night did have the warnings out for Robeline, Marthaville and Hagewood but Natchitoches was not included. If you're not sure just go ahead and boil the water.

A few Ark-La-Tex water systems are under a boil advisory

Posted: Sep 2, 2008 12:31 PM

Updated: Sep 3, 2008 12:20 PM

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA)- Due to damage from Gustav, a few water systems in the Ark-La-Tex experienced low water pressure. That placed them all under boil advisories.

These water systems include: Robeline, Marthaville and Hagewood. They are all under boil advisory until further notice. Stay with KSLA and KSLA.com for the date of when they will be lifted.

On Wednesday, Powhatan Water System in Natchitoches Parish went under a boil advisory until further notice.

What about the people who did not watch t.v. or did not have power to watch t.v. to see the blotter running across the bottom of the screen. How is drinking that yucky water going to affect them? Just how dangerous is it without boiling it?
I am very concerned...please talk seriously and not some smart a$$ comment..thank you..

cujocajun.. why are you getting an on internet forum to find this information? Why not call someone about it instead of getting mad when you aren't getting the answers you want. I don't think the officials are going to post the information you want on topix so try and call them and see what you get. If you do find something out then post that on here but don't get mad because no one else is calling for you. And also.. if you haven't noticed yet topix isn't really that serious of a forum to begin with.

First of all, who said I was mad? Secondly I did not get on the internet to find out this info..I just happened to see it when I was looking at the topix on Natchitoches Forum. Thought it might be interesting to read. The forum looked pretty serious except for a couple of goof balls...Did you even read them???
If you did you would know..thirdly, if I was really worried about the water system I would definately call somebody..I don't live in the area so I could care less..just thought other readers might like to know. After all this "IS" Natchitoches topix last time I looked...people do talk about everything on here..So take your sweet little booty somewhere else to complain...

Well first of all your last comment wouldn't have been made by someone who wasn't getting pissed off that they weren't getting the answers they wanted. Secondly, if you don't live in Natchitoches why in the world are you "so concerned" with this issue? You're the one that said you were very concerned and then in your next post you're saying you aren't really worried.. you must be a democrat. Thirdly, I'm not taking my booty anywhere because I LIVE in Natchitoches and I wasn't complaining about anything. I hope you've figured out whether people in Natchitoches need to boil their water or not because you seem very concerned for someone who could care less.

The water for the Robeline-Marthaville area was under a boil order before Gustav, due to repairs made in Robeline the Friday before. The water is terrible in that area every day anyway. You can't drink it (the taste is bad) and it ruins your clothes.

We all get letters all the time that the water is not safe. I NEVER NEVER NEVER drink Natchitoches city water. I truly don't like little crunchy things in my water.

Those letters we all get telling us that the water is not safe, well if the city council would quit spending all our money on flowers, trees, and signs and other non-necessities, maybe they could get our drinking water up to standards. This is what I have been saying for month, the city council and mayor have their priorities all screwed up and backwards.

And while I'm bashing the city council and mayor, whose brainy idea was it to work on College Ave. and Front & Church streets after school started when they have had all summer to do those projects?

Why is our water not up to standards? Is the treatment plant outdated, does the equipment not work? What's the problem? If the money was spent in the right place, where would that be?
