Observed parked in the reserved Police spot at Wal-Mart, late afternoon on 5-1-08. Now, if this vehicle does, in fact, belong to a local LEO, it should make one wonder about the constant complaints about the low pay scale for local LEOs.

Sorry to disagree with your idiotic, sarcastic reply, leo, but that is bullshit. License plate numbers are public knowledge information, don't you know? So, if we've done our homework, we know who owns the vehicle, don't we? Awaiting another of your dumb posts.

Maybe it is a LEO and maybe this LEO does drive a hummer. Great. I think the problem here is not where this LEO parked, however. I think his problem is the fact that this LEO could afford such a vehicle with all the officers running around complaining about pay *Note, this is what this person is trying to say, but I haven't heard an actual cop complaint about the pay*. But, lets stop and look at who this LEO is and what his pay is. He has been an officer of the law for over 25 years. According to the article in the paper, he gets a 2% pay increase every year. He also receives a state supplimental check each month. And since the PD is so short handed I'm sure he does his fair share of overtime. I'm thinking that must add up to a pretty penny on his check. Then, most officers have "side" work off duty. They work security for many places. And those security jobs pay pretty well. Just ask one, they'll tell you.
This officer has "done his time" as many would say and I believe he probably deserves everything that he has. If not, then guess what, he wouldn't have it. TiredOfHearing...i don't know who you are tired of hearing it from that the PD doesn't get paid enough. I mean, really, have you talked personally to an OFFICER who said he was underpaid or did you talk to someone who said they wouldn't work for the PD because they don't get paid enough? Just wondering. And regardless of who you talked to about money why knock on someone who has protected you and your town for over 25years. He must do a decent job or he still wouldn't be there, correct? *And if you say he hasn't protected you and this is not your town, then okay. whatever* I'm just saying, the point is, get a life. I'm sure there are plenty of officers at the PD that drive a piece of shit car. Just go up there and look sometime. Thank you for your time. Have a good day! |

So, and the point is, are you trying to say you are owner of the white hummer and you have been a LEO for over 25 years?
|
|
|
So have you ever heard of living beyond your means?

Why do the police have a reserved parking spot anyway?
They all make enough to drive a hummer. They can lease a hummer for a few hundred dollars a month. Yes they do make plenty of money. You would be surprised to know how much they really make at the end of they year. You call it over time, some of us call it they same hours we put in on our back breaking jobs. I could stand a few jobs a week where I make over 20 dollars a hour to stand and talk to everybody that walks by. |

I know a man who is a probation officer who drives a hummer and has a nice house in a nice neighborhood. On the surface you would say how does he afford that, but I think he retired from some branch of the military and probably continues to receive those benefits too. So if you don't know someone's personal information don't worry about what they are driving.

Regardless of whose Hummer was in the spot, the departmental regulation is that the spot at Wal-Mart is for ON-DUTY officers only.

an udercover hummer yeah ooook
|

People buy hummers just like people who get rotweillers for pets. It's all bullcrap.
Any vehicle that does not get a certain MPG ought to be taxed heavily. None of you would be surprised that cops take seized drug money and other kickbacks while on the job. Two go out on patrol, catch a rat with $5000 and they keep it. Happens all the time. |
|
No, you are wrong. I am not the owner of a hummer. I have a piece of shit car because I don't have a well paying job. I have a family to support but I have a vehicle that gets me from point a to point b. What i'm saying is lay off the man unless you know his background and where his money comes from. Don't complain unless you have walked a mile in their shoes and know how much they get paid and how many jobs they have to work to get paid what they do. |

Yeah 20.00/hr get real... the police do seize money and property that was used for drug crimes... the department gets the money not the officers... the departments use the money in turn to support their operations or whatever they are needing at the time... vehicles...personel.. special operations etc...
there are alot of people that live above their means, as long as they are making the payments it isn't of your concern... now the part about the off-duty parking in the spot then you may have something.. why does every forum end up changing the topic and wants to start bashing everyone? |

Would that person in the white hummer, His first intial be J and last one being A???
I am curious. |

ya know what....if i was a cop, i would take seized drug money and i would probably buy a better car - maybe not a gas guzzler - but a better one, and anyway.....who cares what the man drives....it's his life, that is why we live in the U.S.
what are yall bitching about? dont bitch about him being parked in a spot at walmart off duty - THERE IS MORE TO LIFE - if you were so concerned about it, why didnt you just wait until he came out of the store and ask him? |
|
Your are completly correct. This guy has worked 45 hrs without sleep before from doing overtime/security. Not to mention the Mrs' is a retired professor. |
