We all know that goes for Muslims, but does it still go for Christians in this great country?(sarcasm not intended)

We have read it and understand it and inturpet it as our founding fathers intended. It is the liberals who have misinturpeted (somebody please tell me how to spell interpet) the constitution....Wrong. It is the liberals who misinturpet the constitution on purpose to their own advantage.

For just one day I wish that John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and Ben Franklin could come back to life and explain to you the original intent of the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Yeah, I wish they and other founding fathers could come back and explain the vision they had for America. I wish many of our founding fathers could come back and tell you what they lost so that we can have our freedoms. I wonder how they would view current liberals and their agenda in America in 2009.

God bless America.

Christians have too much freedom. As the majority, not enough people are around to call them out on their BS. Religion is dangerous. Terrorist on a jihad and Warmongering rednecks on a crusade prove as much.

What you got in mind. Most FF were diest not Christians. Big difference. Also, many FF disagreed drastically on big issues. Things such as a federal bank and such, so there would be no consensus view. If anything, the FF could show us that much. That the views were just as wide, but the politics and parties hadn't diluted the discussion and polarized every issue beyond moderation and mediation.

Dude, when will you tire of revising history? First off yes some of the FF's were Deists namely Jefferson, Paine and Franklin but "most" were not, Some were Anglicans, some Congregationalists, some Baptist, some Presbyterians but most were Christians. This nation was founded on Christian ideals, please note that I specifically said "Christian Ideals" not "Christian Religion". Even Thomas Paine who was the most anti-biblical of the FF's, warned the French in 1789 against trying to build a republic on atheism.

Most all of the FF's felt that a mans beliefs were extremely personal and felt no need to proselytize. The phrasing of the First Amendment was carefully construed: "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion…" that is, neither for it nor against it; that choice was left to the individual states. It specifically prohibited the Federal Government from passing ANY law concerning Religious freedom or choice.

As for the Federal Bank the Constitution is quite clear,

Art 1 Sec 8 gives Congress and only Congress the power to "To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof..."

and Art 1 Sec 10 says what the states can't do "No State shall...coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts..."

it specifically makes the fiat currency system we currently have unconstitutional. That was the consensus view.

Washingtom never claimed to be Christian.

The Treaty of Peace and Friendship ratified by the U.S. Senate in 1796 says "the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion."

Here's Madison's views on Christianity:
During almost fifteen centuries has the legal establishment of Christianity been on trial. What have been its fruits? More or less in all places, pride and indolence in the Clergy, ignorance and servility in the laity, in both, superstition, bigotry and persecution."

Ethan Allen refused to let his wedding ceremony be completed until the minister doing the ceremony agreed to reference the God of Nature and not the Christian God.

Many of the FF's may have been Christian but it was in name only (Much like most of the Christians posting on The Natchitoches Forum here on Topix).

I have. But people didn't like that I didn't call him a socialist Muslim antichrist while doing it, so they decided I was wrong and Obama got a pass. The thread died.
