What are your thoughts on the talks of a truckers' strike set for April 1?

I must agree with SQUID. Something I don't do often. You may see a drop of half a dollar at the pump, that will go back up as soon as truckers get back on the road. In the meantime all other goods prices will go up because of lengthened time it takes to get products on the shelf. In the end there is no money saved.

It's easy to say strike when you sit inside in the a/c all day and don't have a worry in the world. you work for the man and don't have to wonder where and when your next payday will come from. we depend on trucks to bring us supplies to make a living with. if they strike we do without.

If they dont, they will do without. So, we'll tell them to keep bringing in their $177 per week for the 2,000 miles they have driven, to support their family of 4 and their business, so YOU don't have to do without. Sound fair enough?

so why don't you just have the truck drivers pay you to deliver your freight. while your at it, when he makes his delivery go ahead and give him your monthly invoices to pay. at least YOU won't be losing money. forget about them.

who's gonna bring your products when the truckers have gone out of business?

Once again, if the truckers go on strike it will not be as dramatic as everyone thinks. As Troll Patrol stated, they will just hire others that would gladly drive these trucks for these companies even at a lower pay. There are always those properly licensed drivers out there looking for work...
