First, I am a born again, evangelical Christian. If I was serving under any pastor who said these words from the pulpit, "God damn America", I would have stood up right then, called him an agent of satan, walked out of the church, never to return. I cannot understand why Senator Obama will NOT renounce this man. If he does not renounce his pastor (actually former pastor because Mr. Wright resigned as pastor in February) Senator Obama's desire to be president is dead.

I agree with you wrote: That comment has nothing to do with Pastor Jeremiah Wright. I wish people would google Jeremiah Wright. BUT, I know that 99% here are not intereste. They seem to focus on racial matters only or just plain trash. I've noticed when intelligent stuff is posted here that no one comments. AND the topic seems to change after a couple of post.

Let's see. Here we have a man who will not salute the flag nor say the pledge of aligiance. He assosiates himself with a KNOWN racist who does not care that his words are broadcast worlwide for people to see. Now I would have never voted for the man, but it sounds a little like a politician from Louisiana a few years back. Goes by the name, David Duke. Atleast Duke would salute the flag and say the pledge. Wasn't it the black voter force then, that staved off his being elected? Sounds like the black voter force hates racism, until it works for them.
I hate to say it, but, this will not hinder Ob(s)ama from his chances.

I agree with you wrote: You are TOTALLY INSANE. This so-called preacher is a threat to society. He should be put away - far, far away. If he is so unhappy here why does he not go elsewhere. Could it be that the United States of America is the only place where he has the freedom to spew his filthy venom???

Hoopty-Do wrote: <quoted text> Because Obama is a racist....... Maybe so, but if he really wants to be president (I am not voting for him) he must denounce J. Wright quickly or he will lose. This is what I cannot understand, why won't he denounce his "pastor"? I simply do not understand. This surely is not the rhetoric in black churches in America today. I know most of the black pastors in Natchitoches personally, and call them my friends and I assure they would denounce this man immediately. He does not preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and that is a fact. Actually, I am beginning to wonder what Obama really is.

A pastor, priest, or mentor has a lot of confidential info about an individual...maybe the senator doesn't want his dirty little (or big) secrets revealed...

Visitor wrote: Obama was on TV tonight and he did NOT "denounce this man"...... Wake up Americans I just read on foxnews.com that Obama denounced some things the pastor has said, but refuses to denounce the man. I started this thread because I have been in Obama's position before. Not the political position, but the spiritual position. I served under a pastor of 9 years, but when he stopped preaching the gospel and the church went legalistic and under the control of religious spirits, I left. It was a very difficult decision to make, but I had to make it. Senator Obama is now at that cross roads. If he truly does not believe the hate and racism his former pastor is preaching then he needs to sever the relationship. If he does not, then one must conclude that Senator Obama, in general, agrees with this man, and that will not make a good president.

You know it's funny how some people like to talk to themselves on here!! And the sad thing is, people like that poster will be allowed to vote. He (or she) talks about arguing the facts. I didn't see one fact posted by them, just a lot of ranting. Shows a lot of intelligence!!
