Due to time constraints, the coaches were limited in the awards they could present. There were quite a few that were giving out later. Our student athletes are amazing, a lot of them have high GPAs to go with those sports awards. I'm proud of them. Go Chiefs!

I agree with you, it was GREAT! The kids were VERY well behaved, and the parents were too! Great job BOOSTER CLUB! Without you guys, none of that would have been possible! and unlike the NPPJ the BC accounted for every dollar spent. |

nchs might drop down a class or two in athletics if they shipped out all the losers and troublemakers. Bigger isn't always better. What matter is the mentality of the students....gotta have pride in their school and their athletic programs. |

It is refreshing to see something positive about the athletic program at NCHS for a change. There are a lot of good coaches there and most of them are doing a great job.

Im glad that they got rid of Peirce I heard that he did lots of innapropriate things with some of the students at Natchitoches Central. But, still St. Mary's is going to beat them anyway in all sports so they might as well not try!!!:D |

yeahh, like central has NOTHING against st marys. we have has so much improvement in baseball. im so proud of them and they need to keep up the good work. and as for central, maybe dem boys needs to come on over to dem smh tigerss.:]

Feaster - I'm confused...this is a post about NCHS FOOTBALL...what exactly is a COACH supposed to do for a kid AFTER high school? you make no sense at all...Feaster was the original choice before Pierce but he wanted a commitment...the only truth to the fact is we lost him to a school that had alumni bucks, nothing else...our alumni, which I presume you may be one of, did not pony up a dollar to save the program like all other big-time schools are doing...so in a way, the alumni screams the loudest but when it came time to put up - they shut up (for once).

It was a shame the Benjy Pierce, as AD, would not even come and watch the spring game. Sorry individual if you ask me. It is really not understood why he was left in that position other than the powers were not ballsy enough to complete the job that needed to be done. I too was wondering where all the Pierce People were. I wanted to ask them if the man and his family were missing any meals. They were all worried about the man loosing his lively hood and all. I just hope the Principal and Dr. Murphy do the right thing now. They have surely been screwing up this program long enough.

Pelican - you have the BEST idea of all..I've never met a coach with more empathy, compassion and humility than Coach Emma. She "knows" what it takes, and she's quietly built a winning program that is respected not only throughout the state, but in New York, Texas etc...She takes on anyone willing to play and win or lose is as gracious as they come. As with all coaches, she has favorites and she has her enemies but if you look closely, the kids that complain are the ones who quit on her and then wanted a free ride back into the program when winning become the rule and not the exception. Just ask Brandi or Darnisha what it's like and they'll tell you she is tough, but doing the best for them etc...

I'd vote for her before I'd vote for any of those yahoos. I bet she could whip them in golf too. Coach Emma is the epitome of class and hard work and I love to cover her teams on the radio. They always play hard, that's all any fan can expect or ask. |
