Why vote?

Question? Is government out of control? Last time I checked we the people put these people into office to work for us am I right? How and why are bills and laws passed with out our say and on the opinions of a few? Not to mention taxes getting by without the say of the people who are going to be responsible for paying them.Is this not Taxation without representation?

The Good old boy system is alive and well despite what the new governor thinks. Maybe things are improving in Baton Rouge,but we are still light years away from improving ethics in small town politics USA.It's truly a case of who you are and who you know.Do you make the right functions,Do you associate with the right people?First and foremost how big is your bank account?It's not about being fair and above board,it's not even about just doing the right thing.It's about you scratch my back and I will scratch yours.

We have bills,law,amendments and ordnances passed everyday that effect all of us and we(average working tax paying citizens) never have a say Why is that? When did a GOVERNMENT FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE disappear from all of the peoples rights as Americans?

During the campaigns the candidates are our best friends and concerned about everything about us,our family,our business and our over all well being.You see them everywhere you turn,yard signs on every corner the newspaper and radio stations are saturated with their promise to improve our lives.And then the day after the election contact points are closed,that personal cell phone number is no longer active and that caring candidate has become suddenly as allusive as the unicorn,bigfoot and the gold at the end of a rainbow. I am not gullible enough to believe all of the smoke being blown up a certain body part,but I do have a little faith in a system created for the people by the people to support ALL the people.But then again maybe I need to be out there looking for that Unicorn.
