illegal aliens

Okay, so for quite some time there has been a huge influx of illegal mexican aliens, and this is apparent everywhere. The sound of spanish from every corner when you go into Wal-Mart, hordes of mexicans found on every job site. When Save-A-Lot was being remodeled there were tens of them on scafling in front of the store. My opinion: Ship their asses right back where they came from, if they would like to come back into America legally, that is fine, but they will have to wait and go through the proper processes just like everyone else. None of these "days of grace" that I have heard suggested, where illegals are given a number of days to leave, and then are made to leave. They have broken the law and should get the consequences they deserve. People say that illegals are just doing the jobs that Americans wont! THAT IS UNTRUE!!! I know many hardworking people that have lost their jobs because they will not accept unfair wages, like illegals will. Therefore, employers of illegals should get a hefty fine. That is my opinion, but I want to hear yall's. I seriously doubt that I will be swayed, but that is not the point, I just want to know your thoughts.

That's the problem. These companies that hire illegals aren't being brought to justice. I don't really blame the mexicans. If the jobs weren't made so readily available they wouldn't have any reason to come.

I too see a lot of Espanics working in the area. How does one tell the difference in those who are in this country illegally and those who are here with legitimate work permits?

i agree with you that jobs shouldn't be readily available, but I do think it is only right to put blame on the mexicans, because they are illegally here...companies and business should not be able to hire them....The blame falls both ways in my opinion.

O.K. here's the tough question....you are an employer....who do you want, the guy from out of town without documentation, or the local who brings "the attitude" with him to work?
And I guess the next question.....what companies are hiring these undocumented workers? |
I would be suprised to see "undocumented" workers outside of a Mexican Resturant, farm or timber planting work or construction work. Many of those in construction are documented and amoung the best of the workers you can get. They will bust their butts better than others around here that will work for between $8 and $12 an hour. |

I visited with a supervisor doing destruction/rehab work in Natchitoches. After falling behind after two weeks, he brought in a crew from Texas to get the job done. He was disappointed in the workers he found here. He ultimately paid more in wages, paid for hotels and food, and still saved money over using local workers. |

It's "NO FUN BEING AN ILLEGAL ALIEN".

But one GOOD thing is that WE have High-Speed Internet at the Hotel Louisiane.

My husband is a local construction business owner, and has been for years. A lot of work going on here is being done by immigrants (some illegal) because they are working for very low wages, their work is less than acceptable quality, they have no insurance (which inevitably makes my husband's workers comp and liability get higher), and local contractors are hiring them because they work SO CHEAP. I am concerned about our work future here. Immigration needs to visit a few of the job sites here in Natchitoches, and a few of the outlying farms about the parish. It's very discouraging and hard to be positive about them being here.

So, is our building inspector allowing substandard work? And are contractors turning a blind eye to the law and hiring illegal workers? Are they playing below minimum wages prescribed by law?....and yes don't get me started on insurance rates. |

You can't get people in this town to work. They want jobs but they want to start at the top of the pay scale with no experence. They are not willing to learn, show up on time, or put in the effort it takes to keep a job.
I'm not saying hire illegals I am saying hire legals that want to come work. We are not replacing people that work with their backs outside in the elements. They all want to sit inside and work at nothing all day. I guess that's alright but we need people that know how to build things, repair things, get dirt under their fingernails. You can't pay 15 dollars an hour for somebody that you have to go drive to pick up, buy them sodas, buy their dinner, take them home and when payday comes and they call in sick, they say bring me my check so I can go to town. At least with the mexicans you know where they are, they will work all day, they don't work for cheap but they are willing to learn if they don't already know what they're doing. How many of you out there with kids hire somebody to cut your grass? |

Sounds like you have used thes Illegals to unload your trucks at your business that needs trucks to bring you your goods.

' Not "substandard", less than good quality. There is a difference between highly skilled labor and mediocre at best - a plumb wall vs. crooked - they both stand up, just one not quite as nice as the other -- get the point? You get what you pay for. Your job and well being is obviously not in jeopardy by illegals. |
I saw a "high speed" roach there a while back. |

SO.......I assume $8 -$10.00 an hour is NOT acceptable for our people around here. They had rather hang out drawing welfare checks........sitting on their butts.........moaning about Mexicans that WILL WORK TO SUPPORT THEIR FAMILY. Just for the record the mexican children that are enrolled in our school system have far exceeded the white and blacks.......and they started with the disadvantage of not being able to speak english. What does this tell you??????? Both of their parents are working and yet instead of partying the night away and ball gaming themselves to death. These parents go home after work, eat with their children and work with them on their homework. There are NO outside activities for these children ......they are motivated to LEARN. Food for thought huh?? |
|
SO..........how many illegals work for your company bull shitter? |
|

i have a brother in law that is mexican and he is not illegal but does work for an good salery and he rides in a van with about 8 other guys which are all legal so maybe before you open you mouth you need to know the truth

The truth is this is AMERICA and valid/legit AMERICANS built it's infrastructure. Thus all mexicans who come here do so without having done one damn thing to build this country. It's like you moving into an already furnished home with all utilities connected and a car in the garage and food in the pantry and fridge plus FREE MEDICAL CARE SINCE YOU DONOT HAVE INSURANCE. I didn't served 32 years in the US Army for these bean heads to come here and take away housing/jobs/highway space/gasoline/food/etc from real AMERICANS. Not to mention the deaths they've caused by violence inside mexican gangs dealing and destroying our AMERICA with drugs. Killing Americans during crime events. |
