Natchitoches police continue probe into teen's shooting

Have they made any arrests? Are the police going to make a mess of this shooting? Was the DA's investigator called out to the scene? Did they illegally search cars to find the gun used?

Teen's shooting under investigation

NATCHITOCHES — Police continued to investigate Monday a shooting that left a teenager injured Saturday night.

A 13-year-old, who was a passenger in a pickup occupied by several males, was injured by a gunshot fired at their vehicle. The teen was treated at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center and released.

The shooting took place in front of a residence in the 300 block of Jean Marie Street, Lt. Cary Hargrove, public information officer, said in a news release.

Willie Scott Jr., of Natchitoches, was the driver of the 2007 Ford F-150 that was occupied by two Natchitoches juveniles. The trio had been to McDonald's on Keyser Avenue and returned to Jean Marie Street, where Scott's truck was blocked by a vehicle occupied by several males, Hargrove said.

As Scott attempted to unblock his truck, the males tried to open the truck's doors, police reported. Unable to gain entry, one of the males reportedly fired several shots at the rear window of Scott's truck as he drove off, shattering the window.

Anyone with any information about the incident should call Natchitoches police.

3 innocent boys locked up for defending themselves.Luckly they didn't get killed by the out of control boys in the truck.

Innocent my azz they have been in trouble many many of times and gotten away with it because they were juveniles maybe this time they want. I sure that the ones in the truck are not as innocent in all of it either. I'm sure they were up to no good as well.

the people in the truck has been trying to hurt these boys for about two years.One of he boys has never been in trouble before.The truck was not blocked in if so how did these boys know that the people in the truck was coming down the street?

Sounds like some time spent practicing at the shooting range would have prevented several future problems.

The Natchitoches police picked up Laterian Smith the same night of the shooting with the gun on him. They let him go so when the other 2 guys turned themselves in it looked like they did the talking. Laterian is the nephew of the arresting officer. This is all a set-up. One got out on bond and now everybody is hating on him. All of their bond was a 1/2 million. All these boys were very close friends and now the law is turning them all against each other to make them look good.
