Sorry to see you go. I feel you are an upstanding and diligent police officer and tried very hard to make Nashville safe and secure. By doing that I'm sure you had to make some hard and unpopular decisions. I for one will miss seeing you around.

It's about time. Maybe he can go and lower the morale in NOLA like he did here. He can also "lower" their crime rate like he did here by changing how things are classified. Don't let your coat tail get stuck in the door as you hits you in your butt!

Glad to see him leave. Just hope Nashville promotes someone in the Ranks that has worked hard and deserves. The Police department has many that are qualified to do the job.

Good riddance Slurpas!

He saw the writing on the wall and got out while he could. Nearly everyone working within the Metro justice system knew, especially the officers serving under him, that he was the worst thing to happen to Metro PD in... well, ever.

Data manipulation at the top level with plausible deniability will only get you so far.

Maybe now the PD can go back to Protecting and Serving instead of worrying about ticket quotas and classifying a textbook Agg. Assault as simple assault because it doesn't fall under violent crime.

I would find out the facts before I posted something like this. You have no idea what happened internally. there are always some that don't want to work in any business. Crime was/is not down, it's just reported differently to appear that way.

Chief Serpas you really made a difference in Nashville, the crime rate has gone down, you did some good things in Nashville that should have been taken care of a long time ago. Sure people say that they are glad to see you go, but these are the people that have had family members ticket, locked up and don't care what is happening in Nashville. Good Luck Chief Serpas I Know that you will be appreciated in your new Job. I will never forget what you have done for Nashville.

so how do you all know crime is down...other than believing what he says. do you have proof? we respond to the calls every day and know the inner workings of the department. there is just as much now as there always has been, probably more.

Connie and everyone else, if you're going to post about how crime is down, post your proof too...not just serpas said so. He's a numbers guy and can manipulate them to get the results he wants. Please post your proof of crime being down.

There, Connie. I fixed your post for you; there were a few typos.

Just ask any metro officer, what they think......that's where the truth is. Don't believe everything you see on tv.

Daily Horoscope for February 13

Scorpio

Resistance from others arises with regard to your efforts. You may strike trouble with in-laws or close associates and there could even be a move against you. Take the time to consult with everyone about what they want and then try to work in with them. If you have any problems with legal people or folk from overseas, tread carefully. Don't let your lifestyle betray your beliefs.
