How do you propose we do this, Safe Driver? This is the problem we face as citizens -- how do we get rid of thugs in our society without becoming thugs ourselves? The best place for this scum is six feet under, but in order to put him there, we have to lower ourselves to his level. I wish there were an easy answer.

Excuse me? Justice is lowering itself when it hands down the death penalty? That's what the problem is...there is no justice anymore. One cannot be sensitive to the criminal and not to the victim's family. Watch, in a couple of days or weeks or months, he will do the same thing again. And good luck getting him to trial...what's the next joke. A dead man does not repeat the crime! We're all going to die sooner or later, however, in some cases we choose sooner by our behavior.

What constitues a story getting a forum to discuss the matter on? I'd like to see a forum on the State's legislatures getting a 8% raise while the city goes underwater? Who granted this?

Good question, I don't know. I've gone so far as to create a poll and leave links back to it in high profile stories. No one in the Nashville forums seems to care to see that the comment options are CAREFULLY chosen with intent beforehand.

Even asking the question, looks like you got a lemon, how dare you challenge the status quo??

I have no problem with the death penalty; I'm personally against it, but we are a nation of laws, and if the law prescribes it for certain crimes, it's ok with me. What I am against are folks that seem to be ready to "string 'em up". Vigilante justice does no one any good. We should fix the system, not do away with it.

Clerical error my a--!! Sounds more like a dirty clerk that recieved a payoff, and yes it does happen even in Nashville. Besides all that why is someone on the street that has been convicted of such violent crimes in the past, why was this person granted parole and just how did he manage to get that amount of money to be bailed out? The judical system in this country is a joke anyway, violent offenders such as murderers, child molestors and rapists spend less time in prison then a drug offender. And before someone flies off the handle regarding drug offenders, I am not a drug user myself but have witnessed for many years the injustice in this country regarding violent and non-violent crimes.

Wow you ARE THE ULTIMATE EXAMPLE OF A PURE DEMOCRACY, RULE OF MOB, not of reason or law, but of popularity. "Should be shot on site" would get you into the terrorist textbooks on some pages. WE ARE A CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC! You probably never learned that in your public school, no surprise there ;)
