Way to go THP,its long overdue.Ive come across these headlights coming home from work late at night and let me tell you,i see "stars" for several minutes after they pass by,wow they are BRIGHT.I do think the 250 buck fine is a bit high,i think maybe a public awareness program should be put in place for a month or so to let folks know they will be "fined" if they keep using these headlights. Then if they dont slap them with the fine, just my opinion.

I agree with About Time. I live in that area and the lights are very aggravating to meet on the road. I'm glad they are finally doing something about them. I think the fine is just right. The people who are running these lights do not stop and think about the people that are looking back at their lights and can not see because of them. Its reckless!

I argee people with bright blue lights should not have them. The biggest reason is that they blind you for a short moment. But should someone say something about the cops lights on top them bight blue led lights at night has done the same thing. So what the difference?

Wow just another example that cops dont have nothing better to do then to look for bright head lights. Lmao and another right taken away from those people who have them and no am not one of them. If cops dont want them and there so damn tuff they ought to go to the company who makes them and tell them to stop making them, then they would have time to do other things worth while like make sure there not a robbery in a gas station or a drug deal going on in the parking lot or drive down the drug dealing streets just to let drug dealing know there being watch.Lol oh i forgot they want more money so there going to pull people over for bright lights and they damn sure dont want the drug dealers to go anywhere.

These lights do have a blinding effect. Some younger people replace regular standard lights and use these bluish head lights only as a fashsion statement. When they go from dim to bright they are even more blinding and it appears that some drivers do that on purpose. Not only are these new lights dangerous head-on, but they are just as blinding when drivers that have them approach vehicles from the rear.
These lights need to removed before they cause more serious accidents and deaths on our Tennessee roads and city streets.

Its apparent that you didn't fully read the article. The lights are legal for off road vehicles. Just like many other things that are sold in stores and online, it may have a legal use in the correct place. Not on the highway. Yiou can purchase window tint of various %, but you can't use it on the front driver and passengers windows. Police are responsible for enforceing the LAWS not just the ones that you want.As far as the money is concerned how much of that revenue do you really think the police get, the city, county, and state maybe, not the police dept.

Sorry I missed the part in the constitution that says a driver has the right to blind me at night. It is bad enough when they passed by you, but when they are driving behind you it is just as bad as well as distracting.

Put these offenders in front of their Bright lights for several hours. Make the situation as close to driving down the road as possible. If this is a law, post it where these LIGHTS are sold. They also should be given copy of this LAW!

Again fashsion statement comes to mind. Some people spend $2,000.00 on wheels and put them on a $500.00 car. They serve no real purpose other than an attempt to draw attention to themselfs where they lack it in other places...Think about it!

So you say someone should have the freedom to drive around with bright lights that impair other's vision and safety, but I do not have the freedom to drive safely without being blinded?

If feel thats how you then my answer is yes are you to dumn to slow down if you cant see there on there so people driving can see other people walking, deer, other objects in the road and besides it not llike it takes that long when you met a car to pass you.
