There are two persons to blame here. The first is
Sheriff Hall. He needs to re-assess his work release program ans well as those who are given the
PRIVILEGE, NOT THE RIGHT, to participate in a work
release program. He is the Sheriff and I certainly
hope he understands the phrase vicarious liability.
He is ultimately responsible for the actions of
employees as well as inmates under his care, control, custody, and supervision. Maybe he needs
people who are better qualified as far as the
screening of inmates for work release.
The other person is Joey. He is responsible for his actions, especially since he is a self admitted
alcoholic. He should have never been permitted to participate in any work release program, period!
He is a violent person and some day in the future he will get into an altercation with someone and
it will be the last time,(if his alcoholism does
not cause him to kill someone). He needs to be put
into prison where he cannot harm anyone else.
