Look up The Optical Shoppe in Dansville. Dr Stafford is a great guy and really knows his stuff. Mrs Stafford can set you up with a great pair of glasses. She really takes the time to get a set of frames that look good on you, plus a set of frames that you'll be comfortable with.
The Optical Shoppe phone number is in the phone book.(Topix won't let me post it here.)(but it's Dansville-2020) They're located just off Main Street.. on Clara Barton St.
Just my honest opinion. They've done very well by both my Husband & I. Even did an eye exam on our 10 year old Daughter when we thought she might be having vision trouble.
Give them a call.

Well, I go to Dr. Schroedl on main street in Wayland. I can honestly say I have never felt more at home there. The staff is very friendly. Dr. Schroedl really cares about his patients. I've never had such great tests done as I did there. They have a great frame selection also! Debbie will take time with you until you find the absolute perfect frame. Dr. Schroedl also told me that I should get my 3 year oldin for an exam. I would hope Dr. Stafford would see your 10 year old. That's what they're there for.
I give Dr. Schroedl 2 thumbs up!
Right on main street in Wayland.

My family and I have went to the one in Wayland several times. Compared to other places, the one in Wayland is very inferrior. The exam is minimal and so is the selection of frames. They are friendly enough when you start there, but if you don't buy what Debbie want's you to buy, she turns on you. I have to wear my glasses every single day, I know what I want to wear, Debbie does not! The last time I went there the selection was pure crap. When I asked about a designer frame I had a quote on from another place, she said she could get that frame for me. She showed me her price, I showed her their price(much Lower) and she had all kinds of reasons that the price they quoted me just couldn't be correct ~ one being that she said the other place's price certainly would not include the price of the lenses, but it did.
The best place in this area with an excellant exam and an extensive selection of frames for every budget is University optical located inside Nicholas Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.....just MY opinion of course :)

I have gone to both University Eye and Dr. Stafford. I am telling Dr. Stafford is great. They really took the time with my daughter during her exam and picking out the glasses. My daughter failed her eye test in school 2 years in a row. The first year I took her to University and they told me nothing was wrong. She continued to complain. The second time she failed I took her to Dr. Stafford and she did need glasses as we had thought all along. He really knows how to relate to the kids. So in my opinion you can't beat Dr. Stafford!!!!!

Well Dr. Schroedl handles my entire household. We have been to Eye Doctors acrossed this nation, including Government ran ones and feel that he can compete with most. Dr. Schroedl has a fine business with a pleasant staff.

Myself and my whole family go to Dr. Schroedl. I've been going there since they open and think they are all great. The staff always makes me feel welcomed and I've been pleased with the glasses selection each time I go in. I've been complimented on my glasses numerous times, Debbie always helps me find a pair that is perfect for me. Unfortunately I've been to both places in Dansville and have found them rude with poor service. I feel they are there with the main purpose to make money, not to help the patient. Go with Wayland Optometric....you won't be sorry!

I am not originally from the area & this is one of many areas that I have been very pleased with since I moved to Wayland. Dr.Schroedl is an exceptional optometrist who goes above & beyond for his patients. All children should be going to an eye dr. yearly just as they would get physicals by the way. The difference with Dr.Schroedl being an optometrist, he tests for learning related vision problems that most offices don't test for...so your child can avoid being mis-diagnosed as learning disabled. This happens a lot, when vision problems such as eye movement control, focusing near to far, sustaining clear focus, eye teaming ability, depth perception, visual motor integration, form perception, & visual memory go undiagnosed. I am not affiliated w/the Dr.'s office (other than being a patient), but I am a mom of a child who was told had ADD & should be medicated (shocker, that's our solution to everything these days), who was fortunate enough to be told about learning-vision problems. I had been taking my son for yearly eye exams to a regular eye dr.(one who would perform eye surgery unlike an optomitrist) who never tested for these issues because it isn't a normal part of their criteria (kind of like a comparing a "real dr." to a chiropracter...both have their place & benefits but their approach is very different). My son could not "sit-still" in class when what was really going on was his eyes would lose focus doing close book work at his desk after about 10 minutes, he would in turn cover an eye move back from the book to try to focus & fidget a lot at his desk...his grades reflected this & he was labled learning disabled...once tested, we had bi-focals for him to help develop his eyes & allow him to keep focus on near work, but not get in the way of his far work when he looked up at the board...after a year of wearing these glasses, & after getting him extra tutoring to catch-up, he was not only at grade level, but ahead of grade level & declassified as learning diabled.Wherever you go, make sure you ask for a "Comprehensive Learning Related Vision Exam, although if you go to Wayland Optemetric, you won't have to ask, this is part of your exam

Moreover,Dr.Schroedl is a very caring Dr., who, like I said goes above & beyond....One Friday afternoon, our beagle jumped up on our 4yr. old boy & accidentally scratched his eye...I called Dr.Schroedl & got right in on a day that they had only planned to be in the office for half the day, he was headed out of town, but agreed to stay longer to help us, after we went in he gave us his card & turned it over, put his cell # & home # on the back & told us not to hesitate to call if things does not clear up...my son ended up having an alergic reation to the antibiotic drops & even though I hated to, I had to call & interupt the good Dr.'s weekend. He was accomodating & reassuring & helped us take care of the situation...how many Dr's can you say that about these days?

University Eye is far from quality. Someone please tell me what justifies an hour in a waiting room, and not only once.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Aquarius

Avoid making promises today, or even believing in other people's promises. Today is not a good day to make commitments, as they are not likely to materialise. Taking risks is a no-no. Try to relax until the numbers are in your favour. Those pursuing their career will benefit.
