Naples police arrest man in stolen 42 cents

Forty-two cents won't get you very far these days, but for a Southwest Florida man, it was enough to send him to jail.

It's much easier to catch dudes like this than to go after rapists and murderers and drug deals and such. I hope the cops who arrested him feel good about themselves. More waste in the system and clogging of our courts.

Anything less than $1.00 even the IRS doesn't even want to know about....glad to see our tax dollars at work on this person, but the people driving 95 on I-75; we'll just let them go ahead and do what they do.

We have a little fountain in Lake Eola Park on the SW corner off of Central that has coins at times in it. It is common to see transients standing about it "fishing" when they think nobody is watching. The way I look at it is that whoever put the money into it gave it up to whomever might need it more than they. Lighten up. As far as deporting an illegal, I say rather than this being an impossible task, go by the ancient saying "Journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step". You can and should do it, one by one. Start with the states where most reside and ship 'em out. Those that say "I can" and those that say "I can't" are both right.

He probably couldn't speak or read English enough to know that the sign stated the money belongs to a charity.

I'll admit it's petty, but he took something that didn't belong to him.

At least they nabbed this illegal invader before he got into a car drunk and took out a family like that tacocruncher in San Fransicko. Deport him.

I am all for illegal alien hunting permits with only a couple of exceptions: It perhaps should be illegal to shoot over a field baited with Taco's, and perhaps that it might be limited to having in your possession more than two illegals whom you have cause to have assumed room temperature recently lashed to your fender on any given day.

So let me get this straight,,

we arrest this guy for 42 cents, and let out the Crime Hills posse after 4-6 drug dealing Felonies.... so they can do it all over again.

So, at what point do the police arrest a thief? Is it 42 cents,$4.20, 42.00,$420.00? My friends, it is just like rape, no matter how slight the penetration, it is still rape. Likewise no matter how much a thief steals, it is still stealing.
