Berwyn Fireworks doused by budget

Wow this is really something , no fireworks display this year for Berwyn or North Riverside.

Good! Police can focus on the streets between Roosevelt and Cermack on that day.
You know who's to blame for this and it's not the mayor?

A city can't afford to have a show ......But my neighbors can?

The police are all over my neighbor HOOD .......... Our tax dollars are being spent ,W@isely? I lost my ear, anyone seen it?

They should cancel that Labor Day St. Maria carnavel too!

Some communities are not having fire works. Budget constraints are cited. Professional FW displays are expensive. Berwyn's where almost cancelled in 2005. But, a corporate sponsor paid the tab.
In these tough economic times spending
$20,000.00 plus for fire works is a tough sell.

Let's see fireworks... or fuel for the police cars? I vote to gas up the PD cars.

Rumor has it they're aiming for the next fireworks display to be next May 5th.

Hmmm they can afford to have brand new sweet cruisers for the police. Take away our baseball pastime and build a sweet new police station over it. and in return, build new ballparks in a alley...and a school right next to 2 railroad tracks. I grew up in berwyn from the 70's to the 2000's and its gotten real bad, its cicero part 2...I'm glad to be out of there!

We all know whose fault it is -- Svengoolie's!!! BERRRRWYN?!?!?!?! The 4th fell on a Saturday this year, so his show is on tonight. No self-respecting resident of Berwyn would miss Sven for a few firecrackers!

You mean the district 100 schools that wanted to take over a city park to build a middle school?

The new baseball field was the only undeveloped property in Berwyn. It was purchased from Physicians Record Company. It is not the width of an alley.

How are your taxes in Hinsdale?
