Obama campaign patches up goof with Naperville Girl Scouts

Maybe if the troop had made out a big check like Move-On.org , Obama's people would have immediately sent them an Obama sign with his presidential seal on it...or his Greek columns.

If their team can't manage $400 million, then how are they going to manage the US government?

You see the girl scout troup in Naperville requested them and reverened Meeks had them redirected to a non existant girl scout troup on the south side.

They need every cent they can get. Priceless comments from the agent for change.

How Many times are we going to hear about Obama or his camp use the "Misspoke" defense.

“Concieved because of Selma”

“Mispoke but did not lie about "bitter" small-town Pennsylvanians”

Obama wrongly claimed that abortions "have not gone down" under President Bush. At Saddleback

“Great uncle who was a liberator of Auschwitz”.

While there are many more examples, the Auschwitz is troubling because of the untold story...

I believe that the uncle he speaks of was from his mother's side or a white uncle. Obama has stated, time and again, his embracing of his black history. He is the first black nominee. His grandmother is a typical white person...Then why does he use a positive image from his other side to bind him to our nation?

Anyway…

The phone operator did not misspeak. She did not lie. They (Obama) would not give a box of goodies. I would encourage all troops to ask for the box of goodies to see if the campaign operator misspoke. I would also advocate that they specifically ask for Justin DeJong should they be denied by an operator who misspeaks.

To be fair, call McCain too – but they already showed they are willing to play ball.

That's the Daley Machine factor in the Obama camp,there all about the money, and screw the little tax payer.

I doubt this actually happened. Naperville is a bastion of conservatism, and we all know republicans will make up all sorts of lies to stir up negative press against their opponent.

Narrow little mind there....it's probably more that the request came from Naperville, that a donation of the requested items was denied....it's the "I'll show you mentality"

It's rather presumptuous of the Girl Scout leader to assume that just because she's a Girl Scout leader, political campaigns will just rush right out to send "trinkets" for their charges for free. Campaign donors haven't donated money to use to send every Brownie and Girl Scout Troops, and Cub Scout Packs trinkets.

These items cost money to make, and that money comes from somewhere - while it was nice of the McCain campaign to send a box full of stuff, it also is an indicator of just how careful McCain will be with other people's money (ie, the taxpayers).

Her initial mistake - not pointing out that there are black kids in the Girl Scout troop. A valuable lesson about Obama - it's ALL about image.

You obviously live in a very sheltered environment. I can't recall a campaign in the last 40 years that charges for bumper stickers and pins. The kids would be advertising for him, which is the point of the stickers and pins in the first place.
