HALO School of Performing Arts

A very troubling issue is that the Naperville School District allows this program to continue at Graham Elementary School although the directors of this program have been reported to the school district by several parents. The directors were also involved with the Miss America Organization and recently lost the directorship due to unethical practices and many children who were on scholarships for the Halo School had their scholarships pulled mid session. This is just unbelievable that the Naperville School District would endorse such a program. To all those parents out there looking for a School of Performing Arts program.... beware HALO's reputation is one of building children up and then tearing them down.

FYI Just to set the record straight....HALO is now meeting at the Romeoville Recreation Center. This is the fifth time they have moved there program in less than two years.

I am glad you entered your opinion. I have never heard anything positive about their program.
They claim they have done nothing wrong, but yet look at their better business rating. www.bbb.org they have an unsatisfactory rating and they are being investigated by the Attorney General's office.....Halo Performing Arts Academy Case File # 99-99,0089. They have broken so many laws it's hard to count them. Ms. Goita-Daughtery feels she's above the law since her father is a village trustee. It's really sad that Romeoville Village has decided to give her "special" treatment since her father is in a position of power. They should be ashamed.

I was involved in HALO and reached none of my performing goals what so ever. It was a program that helped me learn absolutely NOTHING and was a complete waste of time! Joining was a big mistake... I recommend Naperville School of Performing Arts!

The audiences were small and I hated the shows I performed in! We never did REAl plays or shows just broadway reviews. I DIDN'T GROW AS AN ACTOR!

I was very dissapointed with the outcome of the Halo program. My child worked so hard with no result or reward. As a parent, I recommend not joining this poor program.

They are just con artists. They couldn't even pay their instructor's so their best instructor, Andrew who taught dance and juggling, walked out the day before the show. They take thousands of dollars in tuition and put it in their pockets, when they are suppose to be Non-Profit....who are they kidding?

So disappointed. They started with a good idea, but got lost in greed. Say they'll issue a refund, but won't when it comes right down to it. Stay Far Away From Them!!!!!

Can you believe that Romeoville is still letting them hold classes? Wake up Romeoville, they are scam artists! Warn everyone who is even considering this.

are you kidding halo is really fun. they dint scam you. Andrew left because he was mad. he left THE DAY OF THE SHOW!!! but thats not halos fault its andrew.

Waste of my time and money. Nothing ever started on time and the training we recieve did nothing to improve the abilities of the students. This program is and waste and the directors are a joke. It is no wonder so many parents are upset by the end of the season. By the end of Wicked we had lost most of the actors in the leading roles. They give people large roles and then don't give them any motivation to stay, based on how much they are paying and the qualilty of the "classes."

This is my first season with Halo and I can only say positive things about this program. It's sad to see a disgruntled parent disrupt so many lives because they didn't get their way. What kind of role model are you for your child? That is what Halo is about- a community coming together and being their for each other. I hope that the author/parent who posted this will someday let go of their grudge and find peace in their life. God Bless

Wow, you sure do have a lot of time on your hands. You have been bad mouthing Halo now for as long as my child has been in the program. I am sorry to hear that your daughter DID NOT win the crown for Miss America. I have nothing negative to say about your daughte since I do not know who she is and as a respectfull parent I would never try to bring down a child nor anything that she finds positive in her life. Just give it up already, we do not need to hear from you anymore. It is sooooo sad to hear a parent act in the manner that you are conducting yourself in. Grow up already. I am sure that if there is a complaint filed it has your name attached to it. Let the children enjoy their achievement without your negativety. So that you are aware, there are many forms of Not for Profit guidelines, I would know since the compnay I work for is Not for Profit. Our company is different from a school district or a religous organization. Know your facts before you go ahead saying things that are incorrect.

Thanks for providing me with the information about the complaint filed with the BBB, I went to the website and noticed that it was filed back in Nov 2005, shortly after your altercation with HALO, also there is no way to see a complaint filed by anyone, so when you provided us with the file number that just verified that you were in fact the person that filed the report in the first place. Just give it up already and accept the fact life does go on with you, in this case "The Show will go on".

What post are you looking at? This isn't one disgruntled parent.....this is many students and parents who obviously didn't like the program and thought it was a BIG scam. Wake up and smell the coffee. Who are you kidding?

First of all get your facts straight. There were two girls who DID win titles and were never awarded their prize money from Angelique. Miss America took her directorship because of it. She lost Miss America, she lost her partner, she lost tons of students. You know nothing, and she has nothing. You should get along great.

Once again you are incorrect. At the time that I put in the complaint with the BBB they already had an unsatisfactory rating. They had already had 2 complaints. As for the not for profit...the told us they were donating the money from our shows to Heart Haven Outreach in Bolingbrook they never received a dime. Nice try Angelique.....you didn't donate!
