You are all stupid. I make more in one week than all of you make in a year put together. I'm richer and smarter than everybody.

Amen to Sally's comment. Not every local is scum.

Now, yesterday at the Courthouse while doing some tax research, my exit coincided with what must've been Family Court letting out for recess, and the apparent PARENTS and GUARDIANS comprising the plaintiffs and defendants who filtered out of the courtroom onto the front stoop to smoke every cigarette they could were a real classy bunch (*sarcasm intended*). One lady started cussing about her case in the lobby and the Deputy on guard had to tell her to take it outside. Nice, reeaallyy nice. You never heard such redneck uneducated-sounding people squawking and cussing on the front stoop. It's the KIDS around here that I fear for.

People who REALLY want jobs will stay off the weed. There are plenty of "legal" pills one can obtain, and plenty of booze, if one MUST get high.

And don't get me started on the stoned Food Pantry recipients I've seen in that lobby when I was donating bags of groceries. It's called priorities, people...priorities. Can;t feed your kids but you can damn sure afford weed? So I'm feeding your kids (including donating money to Food for Thought for the weekends) while you GET HIGH?

Those kinds of people don't DESERVE a job.

(sorry, rant over)

And for the record, I support the legalization of marijuana for political and economic reasons but I am not a pot head.

In 1914 before the criminalization of drugs, 1.3% of the US population were drug addicts; the EXACT same percentage of Americans are addicts now, although drug use has risen by 2,800% since then. The "war on drugs" is just not working. But decent people who can CONTROL themselves can, will and do abstain from smoking weed in order to work a proper job and feed their families and pay their bills.

When you can make $30,000 on unemployment why actually work, thanks democrats.
Why pay someone to work when people can be replaced by machines? Thanks rich, greedy republicans. I guess its called karma.

Oh, and from a BUSINESS standpoint, why should someone work and beat themselves up when they can make just as much collecting a check? Its a good BUSINESS decision from their standpoint. System needs to be fixed.

Now you have shown your true ignorance. The republicans aren't the ones that think the government should support everybody.

Maybe pull your head out of your butt every once in a while?

Wow! What an amazing grammatical display! You win the idiot award for the day. It's obvious you are extremely stupid and unable to compose sentence or paragraph that makes any sense. Thank you for your stupid input and your fabrication of where you've lived.

Hey swag if you are going to correct someone you should at least compose a proper sentence yourself. "unable to compose sentence or paragraph that makes any sense". It should be compose a sentence or a paragraph that make any sense. Sometimes it's better to just keep your comments to yourself.

There was about 130 positions that needed to be filled. You'd think with all these people whining about the lack of jobs, people would be down on their knees begging for work. They ran an add in the Coastland Times for about a month and like the OP,I heard they are having a hard time finding people who can pass the drug tests.
The quality of people on this beach has really gone down hill in recent years, especially in KDH.These are the same people, who complain about the foreigners taking "their" jobs.I'm so thankful we have them.At least their trying, while the rest of these bums are dealing drugs, drawing welfare, and continuously applying for unemployment extensions.
It's pathetic!
It's the Outer Banks. Many have DUIs and charges in the past that background checks won't forgive-even if we have changed!Jesus forgave but corporations can not? And stop judging the Outer Bankers. Love us or leave us-please leave us. Also, yea, many of us still enjoy smoking Pot. These issues have nothing to do with if we would be valued employees at places like Lowes. Our seasonal jobs that we love and love us will re-open soon. Lowes and others like Lowes can look towards implanted do-gooders for employees. They may not have the common sense required but will pass the drug test! See ya at the beach and will be asking if y'al want tartar sauce with that while we rake in more money in one season than Lowes employees will make all year! Surf's up!

Oh yeah, and don't report your tips as wages so you keep all the money....just don't get sick or develop an illness that requires health insurance. Maybe there is a good reason Lowes does those background investigations.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Aquarius

If you're a typical Aquarian you're often quite idealistic and today is no exception. You're wandering around on cloud nine, especially if you're thinking about a very special someone, and indulging in all sorts of deliciously romantic daydreams. Reality? You've no time for it right now, because it will intrude too much on your fantasies.
