Letlow has a solid background and successful career in public education. I choose the candidate with experience in the education field, not the one with an accounting degree. After all, this position is for the state school board...

She is the only person who actually does ANYTHING in Montgomery for the children of ALA-they beed to fumigate the Gordon PArsons building of the leeches who suck the money from our children.

Mrs Peters vigorously fights for reading, writing and arithmetic being taught in our schools, vice social engineering coming from the "academics".

I work with Betty Peters on the state Board of Education!--Stephanie Bell
What does the first remark mean, especially considering who the second commentator is??? Betty Peters will always support what is best for children? Does that mean doing away with or chipping away at public education in general? I got the distinct impression that Stephanie Bell would have us all attend church-related or other private institutions.

I hear a lot of posts here talk about Betty as being the best person to do what is right for the children. That's good. What I would like to know is if she will also do what is right for all of the taxpayers who are constantly being asked to pay more taxes to support a school system that is not using the money wisely. Does anyone also know where Betty stands on fiscal responsibility within the school system and on the School Board?

We pay peanuts as far as property and income taxes go compared to other states. We end up with an un- or under-educated populace...and the cycle continues. I'm a big ole gay dude with no kids, so do what you want.

I'm a big ole gay dude with no kids, so do what you want. I, and everyone else in Foley is paying 9% sales tax on everything including FOOD. People in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach and other places in Baldwin County are paying 10%. Where I came fro; a much larger populated area, I was paying 5% sales tax and no sales tax on FOOD. Property tax is based on the assessed value of your home--the more that it is worth, the more property tax you pay--fair, right? But, the sales tax affects both the poor and the rich the same so it is not progressive and makes life extremely more costly for those with less money. I don't care if you are gay or not--that has no bearing on this subject as I see it. We all are paying too much for the education that our children are receiving while at the same time the school administrations in one county after another are spending tax dollars for things that are not enriching the students--and, that is what I want Betty to think about if she is elected.

Sex offenders should be put in jail and never let out. It's been proven time after time that they cannot be rehabilitated. Just ask any Catholic Priest--he'll tell you that's the truth.

Letlow prints very misleading and untrue mail out info. Peters has done her homework and works for the students and parents.

Betty Peters is wonderful at her position on the state board. She always does her research to promote what is best for all students in Alabama.
