If she weren't drunk maybe she was, under the influence of some other prescribed or illegal substance, medically challenged, insane, emotionally distribed, or simply a wreckless individual who doesn't give a darn about anyone else on the roadway including an LEO ordering her to comply with the law.............what else did she think bluelights meant. Her excuse of being late to an AA meeting further adds creedence to her stupitity and guilt.

You are all putting up a fuss about her trying to get to a meeting, weaving in and out of traffic. Did she hit anyone?? Where I live on Hwy 341 they use it for a race track especially early in the morning around 7:00 AM and in the evening 5:00-5:30 and no one seems to care they are never stopped and brag about it. So why don't they try and catch these that are causing trouble instead of someone trying to better themselves of a problem??

To: get it right
How about you getting it right. Your comment "Sense most of the crime accurse, in Myrtle Beach: Where did you go to school? It should read,"Since most of the crimes occurs, in Myrtle Beach. Go back to school or at least check your usage and spelling. |
|
|
I agree that get it right has some horrendous grammer.
BUT, how do you think you have the right to correct him/her, with IMPROPER grammer yourself? "Since most of the crimes occurs"? No, it is "Since most of the crime occurs" OR "Since most of the crimes occur". You can't have crimes AND occurs. How bout you get edumacated before you try to educate someone else? You have made it clear to all, that you are a moron. To all you sympathizing idiots: Who said she was trying to "better herself"? So, she ends up at an AA meeting, says she's late, and YOU JUST KNOW that her intentions were to go there to better herself? Who's to say that she wasn't on her way to buy some crack, and just happened to stop in at an AA meeting, hoping this would some how help her out of her trouble? NO. Blue lights = pull over, no matter what, no excuses, nada. There is absolutely ZERO argument for her case. I don't care if she was going to the beach to rescue a drowning victim. Blue lights mean pull over. Anyone who can possibly try to argue that fact is just an irrational thinking idiot. |

|
bottom line she should not have been driving any thing, any where..........not being mean because we do not know her real story. blue lights for 15 miles at 15 miles and hour still something wrong with this picture...hope she gets support and help....

If this young lady's name turns out to be Michelle, then she should be driving at all (not even a moped). A quick search of public records indicate thirteen, thats 13, traffic violations beginning with her violation of learners permit, thru multiple speeding tickets and lack of insurance, to parking in a handicap spot. I'm no angel on the roadway, but it looks like she's gotten more breaks than anyone deserves.

Public records..gotta love'em! Appears that she has NOT STOPPED for blue lights before, since her charge is listed as "2nd or sub. offense". OH, and for all those who asked "why was she even blue lighted anyway?" Well, proof is in the puddin'... SPEEDING is the probable cause the officers had...... (I've removed this lady's address, birthday, and last name from below. If you know where to find this information, it's all there, but to avoid conflict, I've removed that info from my post). Yeah, she's no angel. Wonder why the article says "womans name not listed", or something to that effect? B1230827488 MICHELLE LYNN CONWAY, SC 29526 WHITE FEMALE xx/xx/1983 24 7/23/2008 10:11:00 PM incarcerated SPEEDING- NO BAIL SET FAILURE TO STOP FOR A BLUE LIGHT, NO INJURY OR DEATH - 2ND OR SUB. OFFENSE- NO BAIL SET |

How in the world would anyone come the defense of a driver who obviously has a habit of ignoring the law, common sense, as well the safety of others on the grounds that she was trying to better herself. Obviously in the same condition that previously lead to her being mandated, or otherwise ordered to attend an AA meeting. Its equally obvious that if she had intentions of attending on her own self directed accord, certainly she wouldn't have been running late, she would've been motivated to arrive very early. That is unless her belief is that its justifiable reasoning she better herself at the expense of the well being of the entire community she lives and operates a vehicle in.

This situation is very sad for those that do know the truth. I would like you to know that the majority of people that attend AA are not "court ordered". These people are fathers, mothers, bothers, sisters, daughter and sons attempting to make a better live for themselves and their families. The handful that are "court-ordered" typically/unfortunatley get in and out just as fast as they can. AA is not what you apparently have pictured in your mind. Alcoholics coming from every walk of life; alcohol does not single out the low income-homeless, low life people you are imagining. Myself for example: I am a highly paid executive in my comapny who has, By The Grace of God and the People of AA, excelled in most avenues of my life however I am an alcoholic or if you like...just your average drunk. I pick up one beer and can not stop with one; I have to drink the entire case oe drink until the bar closes; yet I can get up every morning come to work and be the very best producer my company has. I have not been to jail, commited a felony, I have a wonderful family, I just can't control how much I drink, plain and simple. Seems like such an oxymoron when you consider the other aspects of my life, that alcohol could have such a grip on me but my friend this is true and a real disease. So for those of you that like to express your uneductaed opinions please do a little research on the fabulous World Wide Web before making yourself look so ignorant. Alcoholism is a disease and has no bias however the doors of AA are open to all without judgement. Anyone that is "Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired" please consider AA, you do not have to be alone anymore. |

"meeting on 67th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach." |

It doesn't matter if she was drunk or not, she was weaving, that's a danger to the road, and cause to be pulled over. She failed to stop for the police, and that just made the crime worse.

No one said she was drunk or drinking |

First,to "get it right" in little river...There is a big world out there 'past' 48th Ave. in NMB...next, some 'spell checking' possibly would help get your point across. BTW, what WAS your point???(sigh)
Now, the 'low speed' car chase...evidently this person did something that the original Officer felt was reason to stop her. Once he blue lighted her she WAS breaking the law by not stopping. Seems some of you think that once she didn't stop the Officer should have said "Oh well, I'll just forget this one"...NEWS FLASH...It don't work that way folks!!! The Officer(Officers) WERE doing their duty by following her as long as the 'chase' didn't jeopardize anyone. Once she stopped, the Officers had no clue what she may do so in order to subdue her they were in their full right to do whatever was necessary. Now, on taking her to jail, brush up on the law for failure to yeild to a blue light!!! I am sick and tired of everyone blasting Law Enforcement for doing their job. Think about this, once an Officer stops a vehicle he has NO clue what he/she may be facing each situation could be life or death. So next time you are blue lighted think about what may be going thru the Officers mind. You, as the driver, be courteous, obey his commands, say yes sir and no sir and things may go a lot better for you!! |
Thanks for putting it so eloquently. |

I have to say that there is a lot of good and wrong comments in here. First of all for those of you that say they shouldn't have been chasing her shame on you. What are the cops supposed to do go its ok she was just going to an AA meeting WRONG they are supposed to arrest her for not stopping. As for all of you out there bashing AA shame on you because AA really does work great and is a great thing for people who really want to better themselves. I hope she does get a sentence because reality is if you do the crime YOU do the TIME!!
