Suspect in shooting put on house arrest

Why would you ask somebody to leave a beachware store because their kids were running around, the last time I was in a beachware store it was full of toys, candy, bright colors, and fish and hermit crabs. Sounds like alot of stuff that kids like to run around and look at.

I was in a beachwear store and picked up a bathing suit and the owner snatched it out of my hands and yelled at me not to touch the merchandise and actually went to the front of the store and called the police. I was shocked and humiliated. So while she was cussing at me and calling the police I walked out and yelled back "go ahead tell the police I touched a bathing suit." I mean it was ridiculous and I haven't been in another beachwear store since.

I agree. Beachwear stores are full of excited kids. So is Walmart, the mall, etc. Should we keep our kids on leashes, tape their mouths, and dare them to have fun? Ok, so they were asked to leave. I wouldn't be so happy with the clerk either if I was told to get out because of my kids. I would probably fight back verbally if confronted by someone like Eli. But, I would leave and just decide never to come back.(which Pope was trying to do). I would not expect to be shot. Eli said his gun was in his "holster" and refused to listen to the operator when she said to lock it up. His only defense was "I have a license to carry". So, you just used it to kill someone and in front of his family. Why would he wear a holster and keep his gun locked up? It was probably on him the entire time. Just itching to come out and be used. Lock him up. Fire the judge for releasing him twice and putting a murderer back on our streets. If someone killed the judges son would he want them to be released? I think not. Myrtle Beach justice! Far from a family vacation spot! The judge just gave all these "dots" permission to come kill his US Citizens. Fire the judge!

Well I know him personally...He has a temper sometimes but never would I think he would just shoot someone... Maybe there is more to this whole story than you all know...Dont be so Bias till you know....

If he's not the kind of person to shoot somebody, why was he carrying a gun?

I know him too.As COLA said, he has a temper sometimes, and he needs to learn how to treat people, but he is a good person and so his parents. He just had a little bad luck, and nobody knows exactly what happened.But in other hand, the guy's family who was killed have their reasons to be mad.

AAI, if he lost his temper and killed your father while you watched because you made too much noise in his store, would you still think he "had a little bad luck" How do you think that mans kid is going to be able to rationalize this in their mind?

Thank you. I go to his memorial everyday. All he was trying to do was buy his wife and cousin a swimming suit while he watch [was holding] his 8 month old baby and watch 3 boys. He is not here to defind himself. Help his family get eli charged with the MURDER of Mr. Pope.

The Widow, his children, mother, father, grandparents, cousin aunt and uncle, will never get over this uncall killing. This is a 22 yer old young man that came out of the store because of his anger and shoot Pope in front of his family, and then ran from his wife with the gun still in his hand. He was angry and wanted to hurt Mr. Pope. If he had not intented to kill him, he would have shot him in the foot or knee. He has commeted a crime and has broken Gods law.

Hi, this is my first time on here and I am amazed at how many ways my bestfriend is said to have been killed. If you would like the truth as I know it, pls write me. I really miss Brad and would like to get the stories right. I've been with his mother nearly everyday since this happened, she is far from getting any releif, I just wish I could do more to help the family.

The Popes family had a terrible 4th. Their children cried at the sound of the fireworks. Tis entire family as well as Myrtle Beach life has for ever changed. Crime rate is going thro the top. Cars hitting people and leave without getting the person help, drive by shootings, gangs shooting in Georgetown, SC, which is about 25 miles from where Mr. Pope was killed.

I also know Eli, and have for about 4 years. He has an extreme temper, and I, for one, know all about it. I've been on the receving end of him and his family, several times, and honestly, all this doesn't shock me in the least. It was only a matter of time before that "temper" got out of hand. Hopefully this is one more thing Eli's parents (or the money they may or may not have) can't get him out of.

His money has kept him out of jail so far, and I bet he had a fine 4th at his house with his family. even his friends would be good character witness for this guy, everybody thought he was dangerous.

I'd loveeeee lovee loveeee to be a character witness. And I'd also love to discuss the police reports I've filed against him and his family.

everyone needs to acting the solicitor why he was let out of jail TWICE. not once, but TWICE.
