Who will get your vote for prosecutor?

The neat thing about America is that whether your republican, democrat, independent or belong to another political group you have a right to voice your opinion. That is democracy in action. We as American citizens have a duty to do everything we can to ensure our freedom. For some people it means making the ultimate sacrifice. Those who serve in the armed forces defend us from enemies from without. For those who cannot serve or are not called to serve in the armed forces you still have a chance to defend democracy. You as a citizen are the vanguard against tyranny. By engaging in politic debates by asking your elected officials and the candidates that want to be elected tough questions, you are sending a message that although we elected you as our elected official you are not above reproach. Those who say if you criticize George W. Bush or Bill Clinton when he was elected your unpatriotic simply do not know how our system works. As a citizen of the United States, I have a duty to make sure our elected officials are doing what we elected them to do. Without us questioning criticizing or demanding that our officials do what we want we risk losing our democracy. Please before you make your decision in November take the time to evaluate the candidates personally and not vote a straight ticket but above all take the time to research about the candidates before making your selection. Keeping our democracy safe depends on you getting involved.

I am just sick of all of this. The debate was so awesome! Smedley took it to him. I got the chance to talk to her the day after though and she said that she thinks that he was just not prepared, that is why he had absolutely no comebacks to the allegations. BE PREPARED FOR SOME LIES NEXT TIME!!! Annette is an awesome woman! I think we need to try and organize and help her get her name out there. Granted there are some people very involved in this election with lots of personal opinions and such, but Smedley needs to get her name out there to those who do not know what we know. We need to bring all of his wrongdoings to light! When I was talking with her she really seemed to think that her only problem is going to be getting her name out there. We can help her with this. Email her, she will tell you what you can do. I urge you all to go to their next debate and support her. At this first one I could barely contain myself when she was throwing the punches at him and he had no comebacks. It was so awesome to hear the courtesy applause when he was done with his final statements and then for the giant concert-sized eruption of applause after Annette was finished. Muskegon wants this change and Muskegon needs this change! We need to help Smedley. If anyone has any ideas or anything on ways to organize or anything of that manner please lets do it and get Tague's ugly butt out!

Bad Politics? I count myself a Tague supporter was even at the debate at grand valley the Muskegon campus. The debate had Tague and Smedley both coming out equal. I like tague’s policies he is a tough prosecutor. Tough on crime. Then I saw smedley arguing with the prosecutors. Chief prosecutor Joe bader called a business where he does business and told them that he was disappointed in them for allowing smedley’s sign up. What the fuck is that? I thought this was America. I have also heard from many people that he is placing his signs without asking. Please stop with the mafia like tactics Tague or I will not vote for you. Smedley may be running against you but that is her right!

All I know is that I'm not taking any chances voting for a guy that would intentionally leave an innocent man in jail for five days for ANY REASON, much less to try to embarass the person that is running against him for office. Otherwise, our "tough prosecutor" might lock my ass up or my mom someday for some other ridiculous reason. The fact that he did that lends creedance to all of the "other rumors" that have been swirling about him for years. I want a tough prosecutor, but not at that risk.

She has so many inter family problems! She would make a terrible prosecuter. Where's the REAL experience??? Their entire family are drug using and dealing! Do we want someone in such an office that can't keep her own family under rule??? Want proof??? research her kids and kids friends criminal record!

I've heard plenty of the same drug crap about tague, and this comes from people in grand rapids who don't even care what happens here, and it had nothing to do with an election. It was just a bunch of attorneys and an officer from one of the drug teams talking and his name came up. As far as experience, he's had a bar license for longer but she has FAR more experience as an attorney. Its the same thing as a person getting a driver's license to drive but never taking the car out for a spin. He has experience running an office unopposed in controversy for 20 years. You go ahead and vote forhim, but don't whine if you get put in jail for something you didn't do and it happens to benefit him to leave you there for a couple of days. I bet you wouldn't give a damn then if smedley's kids were ever in trouble if she'd let you out.

I know the family Annette and her husband have six children they are all adults she only has one son that was convicted of smoking pot and he spent 45 days in jail and did rehab that was over two years ago none of her other children have a drug conviction. You should not throw dirt when it can be checked out and proven not to be true. Should parents be held responsible for their adult children I don’t think so. This has nothing to do if she is experienced to run the office. She has the experience open your eyes. It must upset you that there is nothing you can say bad about Annette that you have to hit on her kids shows what kind of mentality you have. I bet if you challenged Smedley and Tague to a hair test for drugs Smedley would pass I doubt if Tague would. She doesn’t drive drunk, assault females in trailers or do drugs a prosecutor that abides by the law what a concept.

Is Tague still screwing his office manager? Wonder if she got a raise this year.

hi i know the Smedleys personally the husban is a good hardworking family loving man and annette is a hard working family loving women. both would do anything for anyone. that sense of giving to people is what makes them good people. they do have six kids. the kids for the most part are like their parents. i can personally attest to annette's honor and integrety. she would make a good prosecutor for muskegon.

Lets get him out guys.

His secretary::: also has a BROTHER that has several felonies recently tony tagues office prosecuted him and mysteriously he only served 1 year and he is considered a habitual offender how does that add up?????? When two guys who committed the same crimes got substantially longer sentences!!!

This is one of now 3 separate stories I've heard of Tony Tague following a woman/women home from the bar. His trunk full of blow in tow. Why is this guy still alive? Is there any reason that over the course of my life span I have now heard 3 separate stories of people who've been offered to "party it up" with Tony all night. A neighbor's sister, co-workers sister and some random person online. This is the least of Tony's scandalous worries, but if I can find similar stories so easily- what in God's name else is out there?

Tony Tague is a corrupt politician who is victimizing Evan Emory for the sake of gaining brownie points from Muskegan parents whose kids ended up in Emory's video.

Whether or not the parents and prosecutor like it, Emory's video is rightly protected under the First Amendment.

Free expression > children.

Funny...If this poll is so true, why did he CREAM Annette Smedley? If he's so bad, why do people keep voting against him year after year? Because he does a damn good job and has cleaned up Muskegon, that's why.

BTW: All the "stories" you hear about him? Why don't you ask the source of those stories how many relatives they have in jail because of Tony? I've known Tony and his family for YEARS and although he's not ALWAYS my favorite person, I have NO DOUBT in my mind that he's a good person and does NOT in fact have a trunk full of blow.
