Unique Adoptions

Wade and I have been trying to adopt for some time now. We have had an agency out of Murrieta contact us. We are just curious to find out what the locals have to say about this adoption agency. Can anyone tell me anything about them? So far we have found only negative comments online, but are really hoping to get some positive feedback.

Did you ever find out anything?

Just curious if you ever went through them and got matched?

No we still haven't gotten a baby. We decided not to procede with them because we could not find enough positive information on them. We are still looking for our baby. We know that he/she is out there somewhere. We ask for your prayers and appreciate your concern more than you will ever know.

We actually got a match through them with a wonderful birth mom. She is due in June, 2009.
Its always a scary thing.
We will keep you in our prayers. We have our family praying for us as well. Praying the mom will definately go through with it in the end. We believe she will. It just seems so far away until she has the baby.

Congrats! I hope that everything goes great for you. Just curious though....how did you find out about the situation? I think that I heard about the same one. Is the the baby hispanic?

I actually found them on a website that lists situations:)

We used the facilitator that you're referring to. We were VERY unhappy. We fostered to adopt two beautiful children. The money sent to the facilator was money burned.

Unique Adoptions is NOT a licensed adoption agency but a baby broker (referred to as "adoption facilitaor" in CA) and it is NOT LEGAL to use these brokers/facilitators in most other states. They charge huge fees to essentially "sell" phone calls from presumably pregnant women, and phone calls are not placements. You still have to hire a legitimate agency or attorney to actually DO the adoption, so save your money (and the heartache) and skip the "Unique" approach to buying a baby!!!!

DO NOT use Unique Adoptions. We had a failed adoption thru them last year and they tried to blame us. They take your money (to pay for their advertisements) and then you are on your own! You will not be treated well by Unique Adoptions! You can go for weeks without hearing from them and then when you do, you will have to re-explain every time what your financial situation is, what situations you are open to, etc.

Just had a failed situation that they are also blaming on us. Do NOT use this agency. The only time you hear from them is when they want you to send more money.

We just had an experience with Unique Adoptions. The birth mother had the baby and never said anything but continued to recieve money for living expenses for up to 2 weeks after the due date. Apparently she had done this before with another adoptive parent but eventually gave up the baby when she cold not take care of it. Unique never told us the risk, nor did they verify anything when the due date changed or when it past. They said how could they know. I am filing fraud charges against the birth mother for recieving money after the baby was born upon suggestion from my attorney. I am also researching what can be done about Unique, I have kept every e-mail and they have lied and omitted information from the start. Does anyone have any ideas, we as adoptive parents seem to have no rights. I intend to expose everyone because we have lost alot of money.

Save a lot heartache, save a lot money--steer clear of Patrice and company at Unique Adoptions. I wonder if anyone has considered a class-action suit against this outfit?

Getting ready to file lawsuit against Unique Adoptions b/c Patrice is not refunding our money as promised. We have given her time to respond. Also reported her to Better Business Bureau. They have several similiar reports against her. Also contacting Attorney General office to repor her.

Keep us all posted. Unique Adoptions must be stopped!!!!

Just experienced a similar experience to previous posts with Patrice Hill, Unique Adoptions. Has anyone been successful in locating an attorney in Riverside Co.?

I agree a class action suit is a great idea. I have already retained an attorney, just waiting for a response. We should all also call a TV station and expose her publicly.
