I think this little girl should get some money from the family of the boy that shot her, and the boy doing the shooting should be required to get gun safety classes and anger management classes along with some community service. My baby sister got shot twice with a pellat gun by a neighbor boy when they were 12( sister) and 14( the shooter) all he got from the family court judge was a restraining order signed against him. I hope this little girl gets true justice from the courts.

As a kid, we used to have dirt clod fights all the time. Everybody got hit at least once. I guess we should have been charged with assault and battery with intent to kill.

Eye for an eye. Let the girl shoot back and make them even. 12 year old with a BB gun in the south is not a bad thing in itself, but the parent(s) should be present when the gun is being used. I had a BB gun younger than that, but I could never shoot it without dad being there to supervise. From the word "GO", I was taught do not point any gun (loaded, unloaded, toy, or real) at anything you do not want dead.

I'm a grandmother of an 11-year-old grandson had some boys to threat him. When I went to the police and school no one did anything about it. I don't what I can do to make them listen to me about the problem.

The people behind me allow their boys younger than twelve to target practice with BB guns and this is a residential neighborhood! Insanity- parents should know better.

No, that's not the answer. We have enough of that going on now with the gangs. Just pray for a full recovery for the little girl.

I thought the exact same thing. "With intent to kill"...with a BB gun????? He needs to be punished but I also thought this was a bit much.

"authorities now think the 12-year-old threatened to shoot the girl, then fired."...I hope the authorities KNOW and not just THINK.

Accident or not, let the little girl shoot the boy in the butt 10 times as part of his punishment.

If they are calling it "with intent to kill", why is he back in the custody of the people that let him have the murder weapon? Lock up the parents, place the kid in SUPERVISED custody, and treat a criminal AS a criminal!

I wouldn't use the term "murder weapon" since no murder took place.
