When I was a senior in high school, there was a girl that made a bomb threat from a payphone in the school (this was the 90's). She wanted to get out early. She never graduated, and only had a month to go.

That why Horry County calls it ZERO TOLERENCE!!! Children need to be reminded every morning before going to school - by their parents. Unless they have been taught to be good listeners by their parents. Good Luck with this one parents. Wonder why they wanted to get out of school early.

If these boys were 10 years old, I would say they wouldn't be aware of the situation. These boys are 17 years old, they knew. They felt they were not going to get caught. Boys, you would have better off if skipped, the only thing you would be facing now is detention.

Cari, I'm not sure of your age. I am in my middle 40's with three grown children. Believe me when they were in school they did a lot of stupid things, Like...skip class, smoke in the restroom, get into a fight in the hall, get smart with a teacher, swearing in the hall, running in the hall, etc. These things Cari are stupid, what these two boys did is what we call BREAKING THE LAW. These two I'm sure have heard all about Sept. 11 not only in their classrooms but on the news and at home. You cannot even begin to tell me that they weren't AWARE of the severity of what they were doing.

These 2 should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. 17 years old is considered an adult in the state of SC. They fully knew what they were doing and because of their stupidity, the MB police had to take time to secure the area and do their job. Which took them away from other possible situations in which they might've been needed. I passed by the highschool during the time this happened and their was at least 7 cop cars surrounding the entrance. Who knows how many more were there that I didnt see...people and parents need to wake up and take responsibility for their actions and stop being so naive.

They (or their parents) should also have to repay the cost of having the police respond and whatever other costs were involved.

In this county they may get alternative school for a quarter of the next school year but that probably will be it. Our school district has no back bone when it comes to discipline. If the district doesn't make an example out of these two then they will open the doors to more incidents just like this. Never no when some maniac is for real. Bust their tails!!
