WHAT DO YOU THINK calloway fire rescue

I hate them for putting out my fires across the county.. Just kidding. I believe they are an asset to our community. Those guys volunteer to do things to protect us. What more could you want.

I like what they do, they volunteer to do things that put their life in danger.I know several of the ppl who volunteer for fire rescue and they are all good people, i know one thing from personal experience, i would much rather have the ccfr respond then the murray city fire department.

Thank God they arent like the one in Fulton, TN!!!!!

There are some people on the department that think they are in charge like Mack Bucy.

Oh and not to mention and Heath Ryan and Richie Edwards.

ALL fire rescue personell does a great job! Atleast they have important jobs unlike YOU.. All you do is sit on your cellulite butt and post nonsense all over the internet!

Calloway County residents are so appreciative for all that the volunteers do our CCFR! They are amazing heros.
Obviously we have one coward of a poster *kntky* who has some personal issues and is very jealous of some of our rescue workers. Funny how you name some with your annonomous post. Coward. Leave our HEROS alone!

I didn't say they were bad people! Nowhere in my postings does it say anything bad about them. It simply says that they think they are in charge of the department. That is not a bad thing to say!

KNTKY - you called them by name - you must have something ( a grudge)? against them. NO reason to call out and make rude remarks about our firemen.

Besides you started this thread and after a couple good comments.. you respond with silly accusations.

I think mack bucy is a great assest to the finacial side of the dept. as a board of director sometimes he gets a little anoying because he thinks everything should be his way or the way he thinks he should just give his opinion and if noone agrees dont throw a fit about it just let everyone vote and majority rules. As for the other two most of the time they hurt the dept. with the attitudes and they way they think they are so much better than everyone else got news for ya guys they were paid firefighters funny you both got fired or "resigned" that should give you some signs right there

Although i have to give rich and heath a hand they have done great things with the training in ccfr it is actually enjoyable most of the time but lose the attitude ur no better than anyone else and if u were so great u would prolly still be getting paid as a firefighter

Well, kntky (now using another name) you could have stated your opinion at first with your reasons. I can understand more now. Probably not the correct forum to use. Don't know these men...but maybe some constructive criticism can help them. We can all have blind sides and hopefully when we become enlightened we will make some adjustments. Have you tried to talk to them face to face?

I think Richie & Heath just get tired of the dumbass rednecks down there who are "in charge." Most of them just like to hear their own voice on the radio and wouldn't make a zit on a firefighters ass. It'll be better when that front table changes and some people who actually know what they are doing are in charge. I think it's funny that a select few down there bash on them, Mack, and a few others but when the shit hits the fan they are the ones everyone is running to asking for help and to tell them what to do.

The cowards come out when it's anonymous. If Rich had something to say you can bet your ass that he wouldn't be on Topix talking about you, he would be talking to you in person. You may not like what he has got to say, but at least he will say it to your face.

Well I agree with all the ones who think Rich and Heath are ...... Ego maniacs who think their shit don't stink, they want to bitch about the most stupidest things. They need to realize that CCFR is a "volunteer" dept., you can't make that dept a paid FD. For all the ones who feel that Rich and Heath are doing a great job go put in ur application. They are part of the reason why I got out of that dept. They are childish and they think they can change that department by them selves, if not they try to bring in new members to get on their side so when it comes to "voting for new rules" they have more people on their side. And if the people who talk about this crap all the time would grow some kahunas, things would probably turn around for the good. I agree with kntky and I don't care who he is. A person can only hold a grudge for so long then he should realize no matter what u do or what u say "U can't fix stupid"!

I feel that I should address the comments from the above discussion and try to clarify some issues to the anonymous people making posts. First off, I was not fired from Elizabethtown Fire Department. I gave an appropriate 2 weeks notice and left there to move back to my hometown. If you need verification of this I would be happy to meet with you individually and show you the 2 week notice I presented to the personnel director and my exit interview paperwork. As far as my attitude about issues with Calloway County Fire Rescue, I just need to make sure everyone making posts understands that even though this is a volunteer fire department, the fires we respond to do not know this. Any person wishing to be a firefighter, whether career or volunteer, must strive to live up to the same standards. The Kentucky Fire Commission does not segregate firefighters by career or volunteer. Kentucky’s Firefighter 1 and 2 testing uses the same standards whether a person gets paid to fight a fire or not. If someone making a post can bring me a printed standard or course of study showing that it is not as important for a volunteer firefighter to have equal knowledge and skill level as a career firefighter I would welcome the information. Until then, I will do everything within my power to offer training at Calloway County Fire Rescue that is equal to what you would expect to receive at a career fire department. Also, we have Standard Operating Guidelines for a reason and yes, I get extremely frustrated when any member of the department does not follow these guidelines. If we have guidelines in our manual that are not important to follow, then change them, delete the ones we don’t need to follow……do something. As the department training officer I am obligated to train every member to do exactly what is printed in the guidelines without question. In saying this, the department as a whole needs to follow these guidelines unless some special situation warrants a deviation. I would rather have Calloway put a fire out at my house than have the Murray department. Calloway volunteers are so much better trained than the city guys who get paid. Be safe, live out in the county!
