How do you charge for hauling Amish? How much are you paid for waiting i.e. dr., dentists, shopping, etc.? How much per mile, is that individually, families? Some have huge families to haul.

Umm....thanks for your input....very helpful.
Stop trying to scam the system, you mooch.

I bet you also breed dogs and don't report the income. If hauling around Amish seems like a lucrative prosperous gig, then I venture to guess you are exactly as I describe.

Shame on you!

Get a real job you dirt bag! And at least get a handful of air fresheners. You are going to need it, you Yoder-yanker.
How come they give 1099's? Personally know from experience. I have no child support, never draw a thing other then unemployment before I began self employment. The only people I have seen complaining about the Amish and people that haul them were all dead beats, pill poppers, never worked a day in their life except stripping tobacco here and there, always scheming to make a fortune without having to do anything for it, had been turned down for disability, haters who think life isn't fair but won't get off their bottoms and work, needing a cat to breathe for ya and never fails to have an excuse for this and that jobs won;'t hire you. Worlds smallest violin is playing for you and guess who's playing.... an amish. Sucks being you. Guess the smell of making money stinks to you!

My husband hauled amish,(not any more) they are rude and many are dishonest. he has driven people all over who then say they have NO $ and will "owe him". Well he just paid to put gas in the car to drive these people, never mind his time. A friend agreed on a price for a long distance trip, drove them and after the trip the Amish said the price was too high and wouldn't pay! they want to over load your vehicle as its the same price no matter how many are in it. try to get you to drive without children in car seats. Worse they will call at all hours for a ride, cancel at the last minute etc. Watch out for the teen boys as they have numerous drop offs and tend to stiff you for the $ as they spit the fee. Oh and if you think their checks don't bounce, think again!

Glad you posted, I'm sure you can answer my original question. I have an Amish neighbor that has asked if I would be a driver for her family. I would like to help her out, she's asked what I would charge, I have no idea, I want to be fair, but, I don't know how the "charge for transporting Amish" works. Is it so much per mile, do you charge while you're waiting for them at dr., etc? Any information would be helpful and appreciated.

We hauled Amish for a time a few years ago. At that time we charged 60-70 cents a mile. I think the going rate is somewhere around 1.00 now with the price of gas. The mileage starts from the time you leave your front door until you return. When you get to your destination just double the mileage and charge that way. You don't charge for your time, so if you are stuck at the doctors office all day you just get paid mileage. The one person who posted is right. We also had trouble getting paid from a few of the Amish. We didn't have any checks bounce but I think we were lucky. They will totally destroy a vehicle. They are not careful about spills, mud or anything. Of course, they are not all bad. Some paid good and even would buy your lunch if you were out all day. If these are friends of yours you will be alright. Good Luck and ignore the idoits who posted on here.

Typical response from a Topix user - immaturity, ignorance and lack of social skills.

I've noticed on Topix that anytime someone is higher up the social ladder they get attacked, by people like you, why is that?

The Amish people are everything that You Will Never Be and that
is a proven fact..........

The only Butt-hole on this thread is You and once again - that
is a Fact!!

You have no idea who I am and where I live - so keep on trying.

Like I have said previously - the only loser on here is you. As with the 0.2% of the bloggers on here you severely lack:(1) Self Esteem (2) Ability to Carry on a Normal Conversation (3) Confidence

The only reason you are on here to trash talk the good, honest and hard working people of Hart & Barren Counties.

You should be proud of yourself attacking the Amish - they are everything, that you will never be and that is the honest truth.
